Lauren Alaina Plays Special Acoustic Set At Exclusive Maurices Event

Lauren Alaina, the first-ever celebrity brand ambassador for the Maurices retail brand, was part of an exclusive event for the brand last week in New York City.

The event was hosted by Maurices’ executive team and showcased curated looks from their upcoming fall collection. Attendees were the first to enjoy views from the company’s new Brooklyn Design Studio, while listening to a private acoustic performance by Grand Ole Opry member Alaina.

Alaina also recently partnered with the brand to give every CMA Fest attendee a pair of Maurices jeans. For a limited time, fans that attended the festival can show their ticket at any of Maurices’ 900 stores across the U.S. and Canada between June 18 and June 24 for a free pair of classic m jeans by Maurices, courtesy of Alaina.

Dylan Scott Announces Headlining ‘Amen To That Tour’ For Fall

Dylan Scott will embark on his cross-country “Amen To That Tour” this fall with singer-songwriters Erin Kinsey and Lily Rose providing direct support in select cities.

The trek, which takes its name from Scott’s brand new song dropping this Friday (June 24), begins Sept. 28 and visits Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and more through Nov. 5. Fans get first dibs on tickets with the Dylan Scott Fan Club presale beginning tomorrow (June 21). Tickets go on sale to the public this Friday (June 24) at dylanscottcountry.com.

The “Amen To That Tour” will bring brand new cuts from Scott’s upcoming album, Livin’ My Best Life, to the stage for the first time. Arriving Aug. 5, the project is the follow-up to the hitmaker’s Nothing To Do Town EP.

Scott co-penned eight of the album’s 16 songs with cowriters such as Tyler Hubbard, Brian Kelley, Morgan Wallen, Thomas Rhett, and more. Notable tracks include the fiery heartbreak single “New Truck,” unifying anthem “In Our Blood (feat. Jimmie Allen),” and viral TikTok ballad Cant Have Mine (Find You A Girl).”

Scott recently previewed the new music for fans in downtown Nashville at CMA Fest. In addition to hosting an exclusive fan party and announcing his new Beer Buddies fan club, Scott performed at the Spotify House at Ole Red, on the Riverfront Stage, and appeared at Fan Fair X at the Music City Center. He capped the weekend with a performance at Nissan Stadium in front of more than 50,000 fans.

Provident Entertainment Expands A&R Team By Two

Provident Entertainment has added two staffers to its A&R team. Maci Shingleton has been named Director of A&R, and Daniel Jones joins as Manager of A&R Operations.

Shingleton started at Provident in 2015 as Marketing Coordinator with Essential Worship after earning her B.A. from Trevecca University. After advancing to Brand Manager and then Associate Director with Essential Worship, Shingleton has been overseeing all creative and branding for Essential, including its popular Song Session video series.

She has worked with a broad spectrum of artists, including Chandler Moore, Elevation Worship, Matt Maher, Zach Williams, Casting Crowns, Phil Wickham, Maverick City Music, Brandon Lake, and Red Rocks Worship, among others. Shingleton will report to Blaine Barcus, SVP of A&R, and will be responsible for developing and signing new artists to the label roster.

Jones joins the Provident team in the newly-created position of Manager of Studio and A&R Operations. After completing a B.A. degree from Oral Roberts University, he moved to Nashville to pursue a music career as a drummer. He found work as a touring musician with For King & Country, Brooke Ligertwood, Andrew Ripp, Stars Go Dim, David Leonard, and more. He has also worked as the Social Media Manager for Worship Online since 2017.

Jones will also report to Barcus, along with supporting the A&R team in both creative and administrative capacities.

Louie Newman Temporarily Returns To Capitol Records Nashville

Industry veteran Louie Newman will temporarily return to Capitol Records Nashville as Ashley Knight, Director of Regional Promotion Southeast, is on maternity leave.

Newman retired in 2019 after more than 25 years with MCA Nashville and prior stints at Capitol Records Nashville in the same position.

“We are excited and fortunate to have Louie back in the trenches and representing the Capitol Roster while Ashley is out,” says Capitol Records Nashville VP Promotion, Bobby Young. “Everyone at Capitol and UMG wish Ashley and her husband, Jacob, all the best with this new chapter of their life!”

Danielle Bradbery Launches First NFT Series

Danielle Bradbery has created a new series of NFTs offering fans access to limited edition content and unreleased material from her current fiery single “Stop Draggin’ Your Boots.”

The NFT series features the infamous boots she wore in the video, an animated photo, and a behind-the-scenes video. Fans will also have the option to add on her signature to their digital collection. In collaboration with Sweet, a total of 400 digital collectibles are available for purchase now.

‘American Songwriter’ Opens New Nashville Office

American Songwriter has opened a new 5,000 sq. ft. office in Nashville.

The publication celebrated the launch of its headquarters last week with a party featuring performances from Landon Parker, Alana Springsteen, Frank Ray, Elvie Shane and Brian Kelley.

American Songwriter‘s new office space is located in Germantown and includes a full production studio for the creation of video, photography, and podcasting content. It will serve as a collaborative home to the Savage Ventures portfolio companies, partners, and team members.

AIMP Global Music Publishing Summit Wraps Successful NYC Event

The Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) held its first in-person Global Music Publishing Summit since 2019 on June 14 at the 3 West Club in New York City, with each panel also live streamed to registrants around the world via Zoom.

Highlights included a keynote from songwriter Ashley Gorley; a legislative update from the leaders of the NMPA, NSAI, and RIAA; panels on catalog acquisitions, synch, the metaverse, and sonic branding; and much more.

AIMP National Chair and Nashville Chapter President John Ozier, Los Angeles Chapter President Teri Nelson Carpenter, New York Chapter President Michael Lau, and Atlanta Chapter Steering Committee Chair Tony D. Alexander kicked off the event with an update on their Chapters and the organization as a whole.

After lunch and a presentation from event sponsor City National Bank, attendees were also presented a Washington, DC Update from Ozier (EVP Creative, Reservoir Music), Mitch Glazier (Chairman and CEO, RIAA), David Israelite (President and CEO, NMPA), and Bart Herbison (Executive Director, NSAI). They discussed the upcoming CRB Phono IV trial, the continuing appeals regarding the increased rates set in the previous trial, the increase in the mechanical rate from 9.1 cents to 12 cents, the progress of The MLC, and the continuing fight against piracy, digital trade, and more.

Following other panels, the Summit wrapped with a “Creative Keynote” featuring a conversation between songwriter, producer, and publisher Gorley and Tim Hunze (Vice President of Publishing, Big Machine Music). They discussed what he does to stay creative, how other songs and artists inspire him, the joy of collaborating with other writers and musicians, the impact of the Nashville community on his songwriting, and more.

On Father’s Day (June 19), a star-studded virtual concert, “Hey Doll Baby Festival: Celebrating The Lives & Music Of The Everly Brothers” will air at 3 p.m. CT on the official Everly Brothers’ YouTube, Facebook, and website. SiriusXM will simulcast the livestream on Tom Petty Radio (Channel 31).

Carrie Underwood recently celebrated the launch of her ninth studio album, Denim & Rhinestones, with the UMG Nashville staff at The Historic Bell Tower in downtown Nashville.

The party also served as part of Underwood’s weekend pop up, The Denim & Rhinestones Experience, which kicked off with an Amazon exclusive livestream concert event.

 

Elvie Shane’s ‘My Boy’ Receives Platinum Treatment

Wheelhouse Records singer-songwriter Elvie Shane‘s No. 1 hit single “My Boy” has officially been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

With over one million units consumed since its release, the chart-topping track was co-written by Shane with Russell Sutton, Nick Columbia and Lee Starr about Shane’s stepson. “My Boy” is taken from Shane’s debut full length album Backslider.

Shane just wrapped his first-ever headlining run, with his “My Kinda Trouble Tour.” He is currently opening for Darius Rucker on select dates.

Big Loud’s MacKenzie Porter has become the first Canadian, female country star this century to earn five No. 1 singles in Canada. Her newest single, “Pickup,” topped the chart up north with over 22 million streams across the U.S. and Canada.

This milestone follows the success of “Thinking ‘Bout You,” her historic six-week No. 1 with Dustin Lynch.

 

South Carolina Governor Proclaims ‘Marshall Tucker Band Day’ Across The State

At the Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina last week, Governor Henry McMaster proclaimed that June 9, 2022 would be “Marshall Tucker Band Day” across the Palmetto State.

“My heart was shaking as we accepted this great honor,” says MTB lead singer and founding member Doug Gray. “We will never forget that we are from the great state of South Carolina! Proud is the word of the day!”

Gavin DeGraw, Judah & the Lion, and Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors will perform on the upcoming 11th season of the popular PBS live music series Front And Center.

Taping for the shows is underway now, and fans are invited to join the upcoming live shows at Analog at Hutton Hotel in Nashville. Judah & the Lion will be taped on June 19, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors on June 20, and Gavin DeGraw on June 21. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. CT with tickets available here.
