Zach Paxson – Island

Equal parts talent, gumption, and charisma have contributed to the evolution of this extraordinary musician who lives a surprisingly ordinary life. A triple-threat amassing the talents necessary to write, sing, and perform, Zach Paxson is best identified by his relation to the everyday rather than a sometimes-idealized lifestyle centered on beer, short skirts, and tailgates. Sure, there are trucks, there’s a handful of “hick chicks” and there’s most certainly a couple of cold ones, but Zach’s legacy will ultimately be born from his life as a father, husband, trade carpenter, and storyteller.
It is from his amassed experiences in these roles that Zach has written a storehouse of music and lyrics that appeal to the majority of Americans – those who work, laugh, love, and sometimes struggle.
As embraced as he is inspired by the blue-collar community of his hometown of Lisbon, Ohio, Zach has drawn from real-life events and interactions in creating songs such as SIMPLE LIFE and OHIO, which is currently under consideration as the official country song of the Buckeye State and was originally released on his debut album, “Good Luck with That.”
It is with pride that we now present ISLAND, the follow up release from his sophomore album, Simple Life.

Derek Anthony – Give It To Me Strait

B L U A N T Music Group recording artist, Derek Anthony, releases his latest single “Give It to Me Strait”, from his latest sophomore album “Cowboy Way”.  Derek is coming off his success of the single “Cowboy Way” on radio for 26 straight weeks averaging 1000 spins a week (Dec ‘13 – April ‘14).  “Cowboy Way”, produced by Steve Mandile, is the title track to his latest 11 track album that can be found on all major sites.  Some exciting news you may not be aware of…“Cowboy Way” was played in AT&T Stadium at the Dallas Cowboy home games this past year.  Once you hear the song, you will know why (stadium feel and production is very solid).  Derek’s style ranges from country rock to a strong traditional ballad with a full range of vocals.  His style is what makes him unique. “Give It to Me Strait” was created with the concept of taking some of Derek’s favorite George Strait songs and incorporating a George Strait title or lyric to fit just right into his tune.  The hook is about a couple not being honest with each other- just stop wasting time and “Give It to Me Strait”.  Can you recognize all the Strait references?  Derek’s silky traditional sound and creative lyrics makes you really listen for the references.
Derek can best be described as a contemporary country style with some traditional taste of country music embedded into his sound and feel.  He has always had a passion for music -instrumentally and vocally.  From the age of six, Derek was singing George Strait, Kenny Rogers, and Alabama, to Glen Campbell.   In addition to vocals, Derek has played a wide range of instruments (trumpet, banjo, guitar, saxophone, harmonica, baritone, and piano). The diversity of instrument experience gives Derek a wide range of styles and patterns to pull from while writing, performing, and composing songs.
Derek enjoys writing creative lyrics that have a simple cadence. Moreover, turning a negative quality or situation into a comical play on words is a goal for Derek. The country music listener has always accepted this notion with open arms.
Growing up in St. Louis, he was deeply involved with music in the school system at a young age.  Derek attended Missouri State University.  His parents have always instilled in him a very strong work ethic and emphasized “go for your dreams”.  For the past ten years, Derek has resided in Keller, Texas, where he started his own label and has been entrenched in the Texas music scene.  He is a regular at the world famous Billy Bob’s and has opened up for Pat Green, Josh Turner, Kansas, Colt Ford, and many, many others.  He has performed at Gexa Energy Pavilion, Texas Motor Speedway, Grapevine Opry, House of Blues (Dallas), Las Vegas, and many other venues across Texas.  Derek’s live performances are high energy with extensive crowd interaction. His band “The D-Train Band” is one of the strongest bands in the country genre – a must see.  Derek is eager to broaden his musical career into the mass market appeal and produce memorable music that embraces emotion, fun, and touches the hearts of millions of fans.
The man behind the music is even more impressive.  Derek is a supporter of the NOCC (National Ovarian Cancer Coalition). The NOCC is a nonprofit organization that helps spread awareness of the signs/symptoms of this “silent killer”.  It is “more than a woman’s disease”.  You may view Derek’s testimonial video on his website.  Learn more at www.ovarian.org.  He is also involved with Snowball Express and The WoundedWarriorProject.org, two great organizations doing great things for our military heroes and families.

Shawna Russell used her tour bus (formerly owned by country legend Willie Nelson) to help with the collection of supplies for tornado victims in Shawnee, Okla. After spreading the word through social media, Russell, her family and band members gathered volunteers to help accept donations and load them onto the bus. By day’s end, donated items filled most available space on the bus and required three additional vehicles to help deliver the supplies to Dale Middle School, a distribution point for Shawnee and surrounding communities. Cash donations were also deposited at local banks where accounts have been established to help disaster victims.

Veronica Ballestrini – Cookies & Cream

Veronica Ballestrini began writing songs and playing guitar at the innocent age of 12. She learned early on the value of our modern social media phenomenon. Over the last several years, in fact, her fan base has exploded exponentially, spreading to all corners of the globe. With one modest dream and an Internet connection, the enthusiastic yet mature-beyond-her-years singer from Waterford, Connecticut, has raised more than a few eyebrows with her self-made success story.
The staggering numbers on her social network sites are proof that Veronica has that special ability to connect with people. She has amassed more than 4 million views of her videos on YouTube, and her online fans and followers number well into the hundreds of thousands. Part of Veronica’s success comes from her undeniable Pop-Country crossover appeal. She points out that while she considers her music to be Country, that doesn’t mean that it can’t have its own spin on the genre.
Veronica’s 2009 debut album, What I’m All About, capably demonstrated her unique take on the modern Pop-Country sound. She released three singles and videos from the record (“Amazing,” “Out There Somewhere,” “Don’t Say”), propelling her into the consciousness of Country music fans around the globe and earning more than a quarter-million views of her videos on CMT.com alone. Ballestrini has been out on the road performing her music on a Girl Scout tour, Festival tours, and tours with Secondhand Serenade, Alex Goot, and Juliet Simms of “The Voice”.
Veronica spent the last three years writing songs for her new project. Her sophomore album “Flip Side”is set to release June 17th, 2014. The first single off of the album is “Cookies and Cream”. Veronica’s most focused and polished effort to date.  “Cookies and Cream” reflects Veronica’s growth as a more mature singer and a more seasoned songwriter. It’s a process that she acknowledges is a natural evolution in her artistry. “I’ve been hurt, I’ve been broken, I’ve made mistakes, but I’ve also had the best days ever, and I’ve written songs about all these times” Veronica says. “I am excited to share what I’ve been up to. I’m writing from my heart about issues and things I’ve experienced, and hopefully people can identify with that.”

Ariana Hodes – Brand New Key

For most hopeful young actresses, it’s a long, hard stretch of highway between Concord, New Hampshire and Beverly Hills, but Ariana Hodes made the journey seem easy.  This summer she’ll hit the road again for a move to Nashville with her eye on the prize of Country music success.  Born into a musical family, performing has always been in her blood. “My mom was in a folk band at the New England Conservatory in Boston when she placed an ad for a guitarist.  My dad was a student at Boston College Law School and answered the ad.  Soon they formed an award-winning family rock-band called Peggosus.”
“My parents used to take my brother and me with them to their gigs. We were their roadies, stage hands and even handled the merch table.  I was always around show business and started performing in community theater plays and musicals when I was around 13.”  It wasn’t long before Hollywood started taking notice and this dark haired beauty began to rack up an impressive list of stage and screen credits, but Ariana wanted more.
In early 2014, she decided it was time to spread her wings and return to her musical roots.  With mentoring and guidance from old family friend, Mike Borchetta, and his wife, Martha, Ariana entered a recording studio.  Her first single, a soulful, bouncy cover of Melanie’s seventies mega hit “Brand New Key”, is ready to hit the charts and Ariana is anxious to once again hit the road.  This time she’ll meet and perform for Country radio programmers and their staffs.
In a nutshell, she’s a multi-talented singer/songwriter/dancer with Shakespearean theater training who plays guitar, piano, loves animals, sports and the Beatles.   In other words, Ariana Hodes is a force to be reckoned with.
“Music has always been a strong presence in my life and of equal interest to me creatively as acting, writing and producing — but the real catalyst for this effort was realizing that I felt incomplete when not singing and making music.  I’m doing this to find my voice, literally and figuratively.”

Erica Nicole – I Listen To My Bad Girl

Erica_6228_PSkinErica Nicole is a Southern girl with a driven passion for Country music. Growing up in Atlanta, Nicole always pursued music whether through school events, musical companies or the world renown, Callanwolde Children’s Choir.
Today, after visiting over 250 radio stations nationwide, Nicole is ready to launch her music at a whole new level. What you see and hear in her new single, “I Listen to My Bad Girl,” showcases her true capabilities. Working alongside some of Nashville’s best musicians, and veteran Nashville producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire), you also hear that “classic Nashville sound.”
“With the release of my new single, I feel like I’m finally giving Country radio and my fans what I’m vocally and musically capable of,” says Nicole. She says working with Wells has encouraged her to strive in her musical and writing capabilities.
“I Listen To My Bad Girl” is currently climbing on the MusicRow CountryBreakout Chart.
