/by Lydia FarthingReigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan, along with Concerts West/AEG Presents and Resorts World Las Vegas, has announced the dates for his first-ever headlining-run of shows in Vegas beginning Friday, Feb. 11.
“We are looking forward to putting a show together for the fans in Vegas that will be a unique way to see me in concert, something different than coming to a show on the road,” shares Bryan. “When I saw the renderings and all of the state-of-the-art technology that The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas was offering I just knew this was a place I had to headline. I am already working on ideas and set lists for these shows and can’t wait to get in front of the fans on this new playground where I can create a fun and super high energy experience.”
Bryan joins the property’s additional founding headliners alongside Celine Dion, Katy Perry and Carrie Underwood. He is scheduled for six shows running February 11-12, 16, 18, 19, and 20 with more to be announced soon.
The shows will take place at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, the new 5,000-capacity, world-class theatre that will open its doors this November. Tickets, plus VIP and premium ticket packages, will go on sale to the public starting Monday, May 24 at 12 p.m. CST at AXS.com.

Seven-time Grammy award winner and three-time ACM Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood has announced her first-ever residency, REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency, beginning Dec. 1 at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas.
Underwood joins Celine Dion, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan as the founding headliners at the Strip’s highly-anticipated new 3,500-room luxury destination, which is set to open June 24. The 5,000-capacity, world-class theatre will open its doors in November 2021 and is exclusively programmed and operated by Concerts West / AEG Presents.
“Touring is one of my favorite things I get to do as a performer and we’ve all really been missing that. I love being on the road and coming to the fans where they live but it will also be fun to get to do multiple shows in one place where people will be able to come to get that concert experience and have some fun in Las Vegas at the same time,” says Underwood. ”It’s such a special honor to be one of the first artists to get to perform in a brand new, beautiful, state-of-the-art theatre at such an exciting new destination as Resorts World Las Vegas.”
Underwood has also arranged for a donation of $1 from each ticket sold for her shows to be contributed to Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. She has been involved with the organization for more than 15 years.

Sony Music Publishing Gives Second Donation For Writer Foundation
/by Lydia Farthing“NSAI created the WRITER Foundation in 2020 to assist songwriters in financial need due to the Coronavirus pandemic following a generous donation from Sony Music Publishing to meet that need,” says WRITER Foundation Treasurer Bart Herbison. “Many songwriters are still experiencing great financial hardship as the live segment of the global music industry remains essentially shut down, impacting performance royalty income and other revenues. With the longevity of shutdowns and reciprocal effects, many songwriters who may not have initially experienced the Coronavirus-related economic impact are now struggling. Chairman/CEO Jon Platt and Sony Music Publishing recognized such needs and their generous gift will allow the Foundation to provide assistance to even more songwriters/composers.”
In addition to Sony Music Publishing, the Foundation received donations in 2020 from Concord Music Publishing, Troy Verges, MusicNotes, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation, Tamara Casey, Amy Cranford, Tim Reiland and Scott Parker.
The WRITER Foundation will reopen applications on Wednesday, May 12 at 11 a.m. CST for $1,000 assistance grants. Visit www.writerfoundation.org for more details on eligibility and registration.

Rodney Crowell Returns With New Album ‘Triage’ In July
/by Lorie HollabaughRodney Crowell is releasing a new album Triage, on his own RC1 Records with Thirty Tigers, on July 23.
His 18th studio project, Triage is a departure for Crowell of sorts, and an album that he has called his most personal to date. He found inspiration for the new collection of songs during the great political, climate and economic upheaval of recent years, and was encouraged by the noise of that chaos to look inside for solace and answers. The new songs that emerged contend with these themes but approach them from a place of healing, love, and solution.
“Not a moment of this album is unconsidered,” explains Triage producer Dan Kobler. “Time and time again the question was asked: does each word, each note, every instrument and sonic choice serve its song? Is each song in service of the spirit of Universal Love? If not, it had to go. The result is a piece of work both Rodney and I take immense pride in.”
Crowell released the first single from the project, “Something Has To Change” today (May 11) along with an accompanying video directed by filmmaker/musician Haroula Rose and shot at Castle Recording Studios in Franklin, Tennessee. He will be appearing on TalkShopLive on Friday, May 14 at 7 p.m. ET to talk about the new album.

I’ll Fly Away Foundation Launches Partnership To Inspire Kids Through Songwriting
The I’ll Fly Away Foundation, which uses the power of music to engage children and improve their lives through songwriting, has announced a partnership with the Kirklees Council, Grammy Museum Mississippi, and Stax Music Academy. Through this partnership, the I’ll Fly Away Foundation will be connecting children from the United Kingdom and the United States through an online songwriting workshop to unlock their creative potential and help inspire their dreams.
Founded in 2011 by husband and wife team Betsy Brumley and Kevin Bernier, the I’ll Fly Away Foundation celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year. The saying goes “it all starts with a song,” and the I’ll Fly Away Foundation believes that a song can change a life.
“I’ve always believed every crisis has a silver lining and because of the pandemic we were able to form an international songwriting collaboration project earlier than planned. We knew we needed to bring hope to young people in both our nations. Our partners are like family and we have come together to unite our children in song,” shares Brumley.
“I am so excited to be working with the I’ll Fly Away Foundation and partners, to deliver this fabulous project. Through songwriting, we hope to bring young people together from the heart of West Yorkshire, UK, and the USA to explore their creativity, develop new skills and most importantly build friendships,” says Strategic Lead for Cultural Development of Kirklees Council Kath Wynne-Hague.
