Swift Launches iPhone App, Brings Tour Back To US

March 9, 2010/0 Comments/in Featured, Touring /by Sarah Skates

Taylor Swift’s Fearless 2010 Tour began its run through the US over the weekend, with sold-out shows in Tampa, Orlando, and Ft. Lauderdale/Sunrise, FL. The 39-date tour is visiting arenas and stadiums in 31 cities throughout the US and Canada over the next three months. Last month, she took the Fearless tour overseas, playing eight sold-out shows in Australia and Japan.

In other Swift news, this week Big Machine Records launched the official Taylor Swift iPhone application. The free app features Facebook and Twitter connectivity and is available here. Built using Mobile Roadie’s leading mobile app platform, the app is enabled with push notification so that any time the superstar releases new music, videos or photos, fans will be instantly updated on their iPhones. Fans can also see her most up-to-date tour information, find and connect with other fans in their area, and share photos with each other.

I don’t think my last comment got posted.

Anyway I saw Kennys app the other week and loved it. I was hoping taylor would follow up with something just like it but then I downloaded it. I was so excited at first, but it isn’t anything like his. Am I the only one that thinks it? Maybe taylor got the idea from kenny and put it together real fast.

Updated your app taylor and it will be great!

    love yah!

Thanks, Sammi. I worked closely with Kenny and Aloompa developing the app. We had it in production for over six months and built everything from scratch. I knew the fans would like it, but had my doubts whether everyone would realize exactly how much work went into it, but the feedback has been incredibly positive. Seems like folks are just tossing out apps for the sake of having an app, but we really wanted ours to be functional and offer something more than just a mobile version of a stripped down website. Integrating the Twitter client and No Shoes Radio was a hell of a task, but we decided long ago we’d rather have the best app than the first app.

Anyhow, this feedback is really nice to hear. Glad you’re enjoying it.
