
Carrie Underwood is releasing her first live gospel performance DVD, My Savior: Live From The Ryman, on July 23 by Gaither Music Group in partnership with Capitol Records Nashville with distribution by Capitol Christian Music Group/Universal.
The concert was filmed at the Ryman Auditorium where Underwood brought her album My Savior to life performing the traditional gospel hymns she grew up singing like “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.” Other highlights of the concert include a duet with CeCe Winans on the classic hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” and a collaboration with Bear Rinehart, frontman of the rock band Needtobreathe, on the traditional hymn, “Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus.”
Southern gospel and harmonica legend Buddy Greene and 10x CMA Musician of the Year Mac McAnally, both of whom played on the album, also take the stage with Underwood. The time-honored classics “Because He Lives,” “Just As I Am,” “Victory In Jesus,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” and “Softly And Tenderly” are also featured in the DVD performance.
Originally streamed live globally on Easter Sunday as a virtual live benefit concert, My Savior: Live From The Ryman raised over $112,000 for Save the Children. Pre-order for the My Savior: Live From The Ryman DVD bundled with the My Savior CD begin today (June 14) and are available here.
Additionally, on July 23, a TV special featuring performances from the My Savior: Live From The Ryman DVD will air on networks including PBS, DIRECTV, DISH TV, Circle TV, TBN, RFD-TV and more; and it will air in Canada on The Miracle Channel, Vision TV, Hope TV and CTS (Crossroads). The special will also air on GAITHERTV (Roku/Apple/Amazon) and on the Gaither TV YouTube Channel for a limited time beginning July 23.

MusiCares Announces Final Round Of COVID-19 Relief
/by LB CantrellMusiCares, a partner of the Recording Academy, announced that it will distribute a final round of funding for COVID-19 Relief to support the ongoing need. Music professionals who already received assistance from MusiCares COVID-19 Relief are eligible to apply again.
The effort continues the support for music professionals, concluding upon distribution of the $2 million raised during Music on a Mission, to be directly distributed to 2,000 eligible applicants. Since March 2020, MusiCares has distributed more than $25 million directly to more than 34,000 music professionals in need. MusiCares will also continue to provide support through the many services they are known for including medical, dental and hearing programs, mental health and addiction recovery services, preventative clinics, unforeseen personal emergencies, and disaster relief, treating each case with integrity and confidentiality.
“The pandemic has been devastating to musicians, tour managers, stage crews, and so many others that are involved in making music happen. We heard from our community that many are experiencing elevated levels of depression, financial insecurity and low levels of confidence that they could pay for basic living expenses during the pandemic,” says Laura Segura, Executive Director of MusiCares. “It is encouraging to know that music people turned to MusiCares in their time of need and we hope they continue to do so as we reacclimate post-pandemic.”

Curtis Rempel Exits High Valley

Curtis Rempel, one half of the country duo High Valley, announced he is stepping away from the project.
In a Tweet from the ACM-nominated duo, Curtis writes that he decided to step away from High Valley and has since moved back to his hometown in Alberta, Canada to start a business with his wife Myranda.
“Thank you everyone for an unbelievable ride,” Curtis writes.
Known for bluegrass-infused country music, High Valley released their debut album Dear Life via Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville in 2016, which produced the Gold-certified tunes “Make You Mine” and “She’s With Me.” They released their most recent EP Grew Up On That in April of 2020.
In the Tweet Brad Rempel writes that he is thankful for the time spent working with his brother and that he is excited for him “to start his new career and dive in to his own passions.”
“I wish Curtis nothing but the best, and I promise to keep one extra mandolin on the bus next time we’re in Alberta…just in case he feels like joining in on stage,” Brad writes.
Verge Recording Artist Jay Allen To Host Benefit For Alzheimer’s Patients

Verge recording artist Jay Allen will host a songwriters in-the-round event on Sunday, June 20 at Live Oak in Nashville beginning at 6 p.m. CST. All proceeds from Songs to End Alz will benefit The Longest Day and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Included in the night’s lineup are Allen, Matt Ferranti, Kylie Morgan, Sam Derosa, Zach Stone, Tigirlily, After Midtown, Jason Nix, Kyle Jacobs, Meghan Linsey, Scott Stevens, James Otto, and Nate Kenyon. Jay will also be co-hosting with Victoria Adamson, board chair of Young ProfessionALZ Board Alzheimer’s Association; Tennessee Chapter, who lost her grandfather to Alzheimer’s in 2013.
Songs to End Alz is a 21+ event with free admission. Ticketed VIP sections are available for purchase and include benefits throughout the night, such as special drinks from Jack Daniels Distillery who is sponsoring the event.
Allen lost his mother in February of 2019 to early on-set Alzheimer’s at age 54 and has since helped raise over $35 million for the Alzheimer’s Association through his involvement with the Rita Hayworth Gala, Brain Ball, and numerous other events worldwide.

Tigirlily Set To Drop Debut EP July 9
/by Lorie HollabaughSister duo Tigirlily is releasing their debut, self-titled EP on July 9 via Monument Records. The latest track to release ahead of the forthcoming EP, “Dig Yourself,” which the duo co-wrote with Shane McAnally, Trevor Rosen and Josh Osborne, is out now.
The two North Dakota natives, Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, made the release announcement last night (June 10) when they returned home to take the stage at the Laughing Sun Brewery in Bismarck, N.D. for a special livestream event. The new project was produced by McAnally and Louis Newman, and features five songs the pair co-wrote, including three penned with fellow Monument Records artists Walker Hayes and Brandon Ratcliff.
“When writing these songs for our EP, we wanted to share hints of who we are as people, artists, and sisters,” says Kendra and Krista. “Our hope is that this EP changes the course of people’s day for the better and brings some light into the world. At the end of the day, we started out as two small town sisters who loved to play and write music… and in 8 years of doing music together, we can honestly say we love it just as much as the day we started Tigirlily. We can’t wait for the world to hear this project!”
