The Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band Unite For Fire On The Mountain Tour

Longtime touring groups The Charlie Daniels Band and The Marshall Tucker Band will unite for their Fire On The Mountain Tour, set to launch April 23 in Enid, Oklahoma. The Scooter Brown Band will open select dates on the tour.

The tour’s title takes its name from The Marshall Tucker Band’s 1978 song “Fire On The Mountain,” and is a nod to The Charlie Daniels Band’s 1974 album of the same name (as well as a lyric in the group’s signature hit, “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”).

“We have played more shows with the MTB through the years than any other band and have worked together for over forty years,” says Charlie Daniels. “We have so much history and so many memories and the music is so compatible that when we get together, the audience, CDB and MTB have a big ole southern-style good time.”

“The idea of us touring again with the CDB leads to all kinds of possibilities,” says MTB lead singer Doug Gray. “It’s not just about the music, but also the friendships and the reunion with the fans who’ve been with us for many years. We’ll be playing all of our hit songs as well as material from an upcoming re-released vinyl album.”

Zac Brown Band Bringing In Summer With A Lion’s Roar On New Tour

Zac Brown Band has announced their new Roar with the Lions Tour for Summer 2020. The 18-date tour is grounded in the historic characterization of the lion, depicted as a symbol of strength, courage, and loyalty. Special guest Gregory Alan Isakov will join the tour May 24 through June 27, and St. Paul and The Broken Bones will open the Wrigley Field show on September 9.

“Our summer tour is inspired by the folklore surrounding the figure of the lion. I am a Leo, and all of the guys in the band are lions,” said Zac Brown. “They exemplify strength, courage, intelligence, and loyalty, and work in tandem to defend their territory and one another. The crowd is our pride – rooted in togetherness and fiercely loyal. They always show up for each other, no matter what, just like our fans always show up for us. We can’t wait to hear you roar with us!”

Rascal Flatts Announces Farewell Tour

Rascal Flatts announced on CBS This Morning today that they are hitting the road for their final tour, the Rascal Flatts Farewell: Life Is a Highway Tour. The trio is marking their 20th anniversary this year with the triumphant farewell tour, which kicks off in Indianapolis on June 11 and runs through Oct. 17 in West Palm Beach.

“When we started out 20 years ago, we could not imagine all of the people, places and gifts we would encounter,” said Flatts member Gary LeVox. “The greatest feeling ever, is being told that our music has been the soundtrack to their lives. What greater gift can an artist receive than to be told ‘I got married to “Bless The Broken Road,”’ or ‘We played “My Wish” at my graduation.’ That ‘“What Hurts The Most” is the song that made me love country music for the first time,’ or ‘“I’m Movin’ On” helped me get sober’ or even that ‘“Changed” made me call my family again after not talking to them for years.’ That’s why we create music and the reason we can’t wait to celebrate this incredible 20 year journey all year, with our fans who we love dearly. I don’t know what God has in store for the future, but I am excited to see what He has planned!”

Tickets for the tour will be available first as part of the Live Nation Country Megaticket and more information will become available at rascalflatts.com in the coming weeks.

“We’re really looking forward to getting to spend this entire year loving on our fans, and thanking them for allowing us to have the most amazing career over the last 20 years,” shared RF’s Jay DeMarcus. “While it is of course bittersweet, it is so important to us to celebrate what our music has meant to their lives, as well as what the fans have meant to us. There is no sadness here, just new chapters, new journeys, and new beginnings. Rascal Flatts’ music will live on forever, because of our fans, and this year is all about them!”

“Dreams do come true…and we are three walking examples of this truth,” said RF’s Joe Don Rooney. “I’m most proud of the fact that we’ve pursued our dreams together and with courage, hard-work and dedication we’ve been able to cultivate our dreams into reality; it’s simply incredible! There’s no doubt we have been blessed way beyond belief and we can’t wait to spend the rest of 2020 expressing our love and appreciation to all of our devoted fans, music industry friends and our families for believing in us and playing a major role in our path to here. And, I personally can’t wait to shine a light on my brothers Jay and Gary this year, and make another mountain of new memories with them.”

Lauren Daigle, Orville Peck, Lil Nas X Join Coachella Lineup

After dropping hints on social media last night (Jan. 2), The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival revealed its full performer lineup for 2020, set for April 10-12 and 17-19 in Indio, California.

A few artists with Nashville ties are on the bill. Lil Nas X, who with Billy Ray Cyrus broke the record earlier this year for the most weeks atop Billboard’s Hot 100 with his inescapable hit “Old Town Road,” will join the lineup on April 12 and 19.

CCM-to-pop crossover star Lauren Daigle has also been added to the lineup for April 12 and 19. Last year, Daigle made history with her album Look Up Child, which earned the longest reign on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart, with 39 weeks at No. 1, surpassing 38-week record set by Switchfoot’s The Beautiful Letdown in 2004-2005. On Jan. 18, Daigle will launch her World Tour, beginning in Melbourne, Australia. Following shows in Sydney, Brisbane, and in New Zealand, the tour will return stateside for shows in New York, Nashville, Dallas, Boston and more.

Masked country singer Orville Peck will join Coachella on April 11 and 18. He has garnered press coverage in publications including GQ Style, Los Angeles Times, Vice, and The Guardian. He recently released the video for his song “Nothing Fades Like The Light,” from his debut album Pony. The song was recently featured on the HBO show Watchmen. This year, he is also set to perform at the Stagecoach and Shaky Knees festivals.

Rage Against The Machine will reunite for the first time since 2011 to headline Coachella’s lineup on April 10 and 17, while Travis Scott will headline on April 11 and 18, with Frank Ocean leading on April 12 and 19.

Last year, Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande and Tame Impala headlined Coachella, which also featured country star Kacey Musgraves and Nashville pop artist Soccer Mommy as part of the lineup.

Michael W. Smith Extends ’35 Years Of Friends Tour’

Michael W. Smith and Awakening Events are adding a spring extension to the Michael W. Smith 35 Years Of Friends Tour. A 17-city slate of shows follows the fall 2019 run of 14 sold-out shows. The spring leg of the tour will visit cities including Sugar Land, Texas; San Francisco; Macon, Georgia; and Roanoke, Virginia.

“The fans made it clear, they want more Michael W. Smith, and the momentum of finishing this fall with all 10 of the final 10 shows being sold out left no doubt that we needed to extend this tour,” said Curtis Pinkerton, Director of Marketing at Awakening Events.

Smith says, “I am thrilled that we are taking the 35 Years Of Friends Tour back on the road this spring. The fall tour was so much fun and such a great success, I can’t wait to do it again. Last year in Nashville, we had an event where 56 of my friends and fellow artists came together to celebrate my 35 No. 1’s and the 35th Anniversary of “FRIENDS.” It was an amazing night—and, for me, brought back memories of some songs I hadn’t thought of for quite a while! To fit all the songs into one night and be my own opening act is really special to me. From the old songs I haven’t done in concert for a long time, to newer hits and, of course worship—it’s a full night. I can’t wait to see you there!”

Country artist Ian Munsick has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA), and will release “Solo” and “Mountain Time,” two new songs from his upcoming album, on Jan. 24.

Munsick is represented by The Erv Woolsey Co., in partnership with Caroline Rudolph, CEO and executive creative director of Not A Public Figure Management.

In January, Munsick’s “Horses Are Faster” earned Song of the Year at the iHeartRadio Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards. He has more than 6.5 million streams on Spotify, with more than 110,000 monthly listeners.

“We are beyond excited that Ian chose United Talent Agency as his agency home,” says UTA Nashville’s Lance Roberts. “From the moment we heard his music we had to be part of the team. Ian’s music will stand the test of time and his authenticity resonates on so many levels within the agency. We are honored to be part of his family.”

“It’s a great marriage,” agrees Bryan Vastano, booking agent at UTA Nashville. One listen to Munsick’s music, he says, and you’ll be impressed with his innovation and commitment to his craft. “Ian’s music is extremely refreshing, and his authenticity permeates all of his songs so well. This ability, along with an unbelievable work ethic, drove us to work with him immediately.”
