The CMA Broadcast Award winners will be acknowledged at The 48th Annual CMA Awards, to be held Wed., Nov. 5 on ABC, and broadcast live by ABC from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood return to host the event.

Brooks Debuts Single, Announces More Tour Dates

garth brooks people singleGarth Brooks debuted his first single for RCA Recods Nashville/Pearl Records this morning (Sept. 3). “People Loving People” aired on the syndicated radio program, The Bobby Bones Show, where Brooks called in to discuss the new music before boarding a plane to Chicago for tour rehearsals. “People Loving People” was written by Lee Miller, Chris Wallin and busbee.
Also announced today, Brooks is set to make his first appearance in Florida in 17 years. The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood will stop in Jacksonville on Friday, Oct. 10; Saturday, Oct. 11; and Sunday, Oct. 12. Tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 12 at 10:00 AM EST, with an eight ticket limit per purchase at ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks. Utilizing a one-price-house method, all tickets cost $68.00, including fees.
Brooks’ tour launches tomorrow in Chicago, where he will give multiple performances.
Yearwood also debuted a single on RCA Nashville, “PrizeFighter,” which won MusicRow critic Robert K. Oermann’s Disc of the Day honor today.

MusicRow Challenge Coin: Brad Warren and Lance Miller

Brad Warren and Lance Miller visited the MusicRow offices recently, where they were honored with a MusicRow Challenge Coin in acknowledgement of their contribution to Jerrod Niemann‘s “Drink To That All Night,” which hit the No. 1 spot on the MusicRow CountryBreakout Chart the week of March 6, 2014.
The song was also penned by Derek George and Brett Warren. The song was published by WB Music Corp, Funky Frair Music, Songs of StyleSonic, Melvin’s Bullets Music, Melvin’s Pistol Music, House Of StyleSonic Music, EMI Blackwood Music Inc., Sagequinnjude Music, Famlove Songs.

Sony Music Nashville Hires Garbinski For Secondary Radio Promotion

Sony Nashville has hired Christy Garbinski as promotion representative for the label. Based in Nashville, Garbinski is responsible for promoting airplay for Sony Music Nashville artists at secondary market radio stations.
A 2013 graduate of the University of Florida, she has experience with Country Radio Broadcasters, and WRUF The Gator in Gainesville, Fla., along with internships at CMT, Clear Channel Tampa, and Entercom Communications.

Country Radio Seminar has revealed core panel moderators for 2015, overseeing and directing the bulk of the educational panels throughout the annual seminar Feb. 25-27.
The core panel will include Beverlee Brannigan (VP of Programming for Journal Broadcast Group, 2012 Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee), Erica Farber (Pres./CEO of Radio Advertising Bureau/New York), Dan Halyburton (Falls Media Group, Country Radio Hall of Fame and Texas Radio Hall of Fame inductee), Lon Helton (Editor/Publisher, Country Aircheck, 2006 Country Music DJ Hall of Fame inductee) and Gregg Lindahl (40-year radio veteran, past SVP Digital and Strategy for Cox Media Group).
“Our development of the core panel of moderators has led to exceptional panel discussions over the past four years,” stated CRS Executive Director, Bill Mayne. “These individuals have been gracious and giving in sharing their talents of facilitation in delivering meaningful panel ‘take away’ results for all attendees!”

[Original post]: Atlanta Oldies station WWWQ has flipped to NASH Icon 98.9, while Sports WZAT in Savannah has switched to NASH Icon 102.1. NASH Icon is based at the NASH campus in Nashville, led by GM Jim Weatherson, who recently led the Nashville office of 19 Entertainment, and previously led projects for Taylor Swift in a management role at 13 Management.
NASH Icon features the most popular Country artists of the past 25 years.
