Music City Roots Mixes Quality Performers and Fun

Skates On The Case:
Music City Roots is one of Nashville’s most welcoming concert experiences for artists and fans alike. The cozy Loveless Barn, where the smell of barbecue wafts through the air, is a perfect venue for the show reminiscent of an old-time radio broadcast. (Fans can listen from home via online streaming or on Hippie Radio 94.5.)
Last night’s (Jan. 15) sold out event offered a prime mix of top-tier talent: big-name headliner Amos Lee, songwriter extraordinaires Tim O’Brien and Darrell Scott, rising folk songstress Angel Snow, and keen new artists Sam Lewis, and Bradford Lee Folk & The Bluegrass Playboys. The action continues between sets as Craig Havighurst interviews performers, and Jim Lauderdale entertains as a fun, quirky host. Helping make sure everything runs smoothly is MCR’s Dir. of Artist Relations/Assoc. Producer Laurie Dashper Gregory.
From a business perspective, the series attracts sponsors with plenty of creative branding opportunities. There was a live performance of the Vietti Chili jingle, an onstage presentation of a gift from Kirkland’s, French’s boots were on display, and the concert offers the Blackstone Brewery line up.
Held every Wednesday, Music City Roots is equally family friendly and pocketbook friendly. General admission tickets are $10, with group, student and children discounts available. The popular show even has a Chattanooga off-shoot, Scenic City Roots.
