New Site Aims to Discover the Hits
/by Eric T. ParkerSkip Bishop and Jane Crossman
Music industry veteran Jane Crossman has created www.songstash.com, a new website featuring uncut songs for artists looking for material to record.
Crossman initially met with Nashville publishers and songwriters to build a collection of songs and discuss her idea to build a more efficient process. The result was a design that links singers with the writers and publishers who manage copyrights.
The company will also sign songwriters without publishing deals. “If you have a deal or if you are looking for a deal, contact us and we can help,” Crossman says.
To complete the project, Crossman brought on promotion veteran Skip Bishop. “Jane approached us at Studio1Bee with one of the more innovative ideas we’d seen in some time,” Bishop says.
Crossman has previous experience as a Program Director, Marketing Director and Web Director. Before launching his new company Studio1Bee, Bishop was a Senior Executive at Sony and is credited with facilitating over 40 number one hits at Country radio.

Hatch Show Print Finds a New Home
/by Freeman“Hatch Show Print’s move to our expanding museum campus is the logical next step in our decades-long effort to preserve the shop,” said Museum Director Kyle Young. “It is entirely fitting that the shop, with its venerable history and invaluable collection of carved wood blocks, will reside permanently at the museum. For more than 20 years, the museum has labored to safeguard Hatch and its legacy, and this is the culmination of that work.”
Founded in 1879, Hatch is one of the country’s oldest letterpress shops and has a history closely associated with early country music stars and Southern entertainment. The shop has moved seven times over the last 133 years. In 1986, it was purchased by Gaylord Entertainment Company who asked the museum to curate it. In 1992, the shop was donated to the museum and moved to its current Broadway digs. Jim Sherraden serves as the shop’s Curator and Manager.
“Hatch will continue to operate as it always has,” added Young. “In its new space on the museum’s first floor, Hatch will have an expanded production area with an adjacent retail site. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows on one wall of the production space will allow visitors to watch as designers lay out type and print posters on the letterpresses. We’ll even have a dedicated design space where Hatch staff can offer hands-on demos to visitors at designated times.”
Admission to the store will be free, and a new entrance on 5th Ave. S. will give outside visitors access.
Charlie Daniels – “Take Back The USA”
/by ProgrammerPlaylist“I think it speaks volumes about how a lot of people in this country feel right now. Plus, it’s easy to hear how Charlie paved the way for the Jason Aldeans and Eric Churchs of today.”
Shane Collins, Program Director WQNU-FM Louisville, KY
“In a time where music has lost much of its meaning and heart, Charlie Daniels reminds us that patriotism is a way to reach millions and millions of Americans. It’s time for us as Americans to Take Back the USA and Charlie Daniels has paved the road for other artists to reach out all Americans and remind them of the importance to vote on November 6th and take back the country we know and love so much.”
Ray Muccio
Producer, David Webb Show
SiriusXM Patriot 125
“Charlie has worn his Patriotism on his sleeve longer than anyone. In America came out in ’79 or ’80 when we didn’t evn like ourselves as a Country.. He was great at then and he still is today. Country music is about real life and Charlie’s done it again. (at least he didn’t drop a Steeler’s reference in THIS song!!!)”
Jim Mantel, Morning Show Talent
WRNS-FM
Greenville, NC
“Powerful Message that needs to be heard. A great reminder that we live in one of the Greatest counties in the World. And it starts with God Bless America. Honor him and he will Honor our land. Just added it to the show Thanks once again Charlie for standing up for the ones who don’t have a voice.”
John Ritter, Rise Up Country
“Charlie Daniels is saying what is on ALL our minds in his new release Take Back The USA, it’s GREAT and the audience LOVES it!!!!!”
(Captain Jack)
Owner / President /COO
Renegade Radio Nashville
“’Take Back The USA’ reminds me why I love Country music!! For over half a century…Charlie Daniels continues to carry the patriotic torch for Country music!!”
Marty Mitchell, PD WKMK-FM NYC
“It’s not at all surprising that Charlie Daniels would be holding the lantern that lights the path, as we Take Back the USA. Charlie, America’s a better country with you in it. That’s always been true.”
Moby In the Morning Syndicated Show
“For too long now God, Family and Country have been on the decline. I think everyone should pull together and take back some ground for the things I believe made this country strong!”
Teddy Gentry founding member of legendary supergroup Alabama.

Adkins will compete on behalf of the American Red Cross, for which he is a recent addition to the Celebrity Cabinet and spokesperson for its holiday campaign.
“When my home was claimed by fire last year, Red Cross volunteers were among the first on-site,” Adkins said. “They looked after my family when I couldn’t be there and offered help. Adkins will compete with 13 other business-savvy celebrity contestants to win a $250,000 bonus check and raise awareness for the charity of their choosing.
Filming begins Monday (10/15) with cast members Stephen Baldwin, Gary Busey, Penn Jillette, Lil Jon, Bret Michaels (2010 winner), Dennis Rodman, Dee Snider, Marilu Henner, La Toya Jackson, Claudia Jordan, Omarosa (first season contestant), Lisa Rinna, and Brande Roderick.
Last season, The Celebrity Apprentice raised a record $3.1 million for charity.
