Social Media Success Story CJaye LeRose

August 17, 2010/by Sarah Skates

Online marketing success stories are becoming more and more common and CJaye LeRose is the latest example. She started a YouTube channel in April 2009 to raise awareness about pet adoption, and posted a self-penned song along with dog rescue videos. Now the Texas native has had more than one million video views on YouTube and is planning the release of a full length album.

For LeRose, the next step after YouTube was starting a Twitter account, inspired partly by MusicRow’s Twitter chart which ranks country singers by the number of followers.

In less than six months, she’s gained 10,000 followers and moved up to No. 55 in the rankings. LeRose calls the whole experience “surreal.”

Lately she’s been in Nashville prepping for the release of her debut album, Date With The Tub, due this fall. She has recruited Music City Networks to build a web site at www.cjayelerose.com, completed a photo shoot with Melinda Norris, and made a video for lead single, “The Porch,” with Gamma Blast director Chad Denning.

LeRose’s first performance in Nashville will be at Crownover Tisinger’s End of The Row Party to benefit the TJ Martell Foundation. It is set for Sept. 16 at the law offices at 1701 18th Avenue South.

Graph shows LeRose's strong growth in Twitter followers in recent months.

This is very 2005, but ok. This town doesn’t have one innovative new media company that I am aware of and I wish artists on the charts would understand the value of a viral campaign.

The issue isn’t the “innovative new media companies”, the issue is artists that need to create viral campaigns don’t want to spend the money on them, or their “teams” (i.e. those writing the checks) lack a digital vision for what a viral campaign to do for their artist.

We have great ideas, and if there are artists out there that want to go for a viral campaign, we’re happy to assist, but there aren’t a great deal of artists, management companies, indie record labels willing to participate…

There certainly are innovative new media companies in town. We just need more clients willing to take risks on their campaigns.

Big Machine is a GREAT example of a company in Nashville that takes it to the next level. They market their artists throughout many areas of the internet. Have you noticed that their new artists climb the charts and build fan bases much faster then some of the other labels in town? That’s because they take the time, the risks, and even have a division dedicated to new media. They seem to embrace new technology while others fear it or perhaps consider it just a “fad.”

Having personally known CJaye for some time now I have had to take a step back and simply marvel at everything she has set up for herself. Undeniably talented and driven, CJaye has put in an unbelievable amount of time and dedication to getting herself, her music, and her message to end puppy mills and be yourself and have confidence in YOU, heard across the internet, and that alone is beyond commendable. The recognition CJaye is receiving for her music is simply exciting to just sit back and watch – with a smile on your face, of course.

The fact that with all the success she has had on YouTube she has still remained CJaye and hasn’t gotten wrapped up in this sudden “fame” makes me even more proud of her. She’s just as gracious with the comments she receives today as she was when she began her channel. She has always, and continues to be the first to encourage anyone who puts themselves out there to be heard, building the confidence of other dreamers as she begins to live out hers.

All things considered, it’s not simply just her indisputable talent and passion for her music that has taken CJaye to the success she is reaping. Her dreams coming to fruition have to be credited also to her hard work to get herself noticed, and of course it’s not just the music the YouTubers have fallen in love with. Her charming and vivacious personality win people over and bring a smile to their face with every video they watch or comment they read – and keep them coming back.

4 words. CJaye is absolutely AMAZING!

Although I have only known CJaye for a short time, it is honestly easy to say that she is one of the kindest, most gracious people I have met. Not many people try to respond to ALL tweets on Twitter or reply to comments on YouTube. LOVE the fact that she is now getting to live out her dream in Nashville and cannot wait to see what good comes her way (because she deserves EVERY BIT of if)!!!

I am so glad CJaye is getting the exposure of the media and so many people all over the world. This girl is so talented. she not only sings but she has written many of her own songs. Give her a listen on her You Tube Channel and you will see what I mean. Cjaye will be a superstar someday and rightfully so. She is also a warm, caring person whom I can call my friend. Please give her your support. Mike.
