Industry veterans Susan Nadler and Evelyn Shriver, who charmed audiences with their podcast Shady Ladies of Music City, are set to return with season three this fall. Ahead of its launch, the duo have signed with Morris Higham Management for representation.

Nadler and Shriver have worked behind the scenes building countless iconic artists and musicians’ careers, becoming legends on Music Row and beyond. In a matter of only a few years, they infiltrated and disrupted the Nashville music industry in the ‘80s and ‘90s, becoming the first women ever to helm a major Nashville record label, Asylum Records.

The next season of Shady Ladies will focus on the state of the music industry today, including topics such as inclusivity, censorship and extremism. New episodes will be available weekly through the holidays beginning Nov. 10.

“We launched this podcast as a way to archive a lot of the stories about a town and industry we love,” shares Nadler. “Now that we’re out of the day-to-day, we can talk about it in a different way that illustrates a lot of how things used to be and perhaps even answer why they are the way they are today,” adds Shriver. “But without the filter—because we can,” Nadler interjects.

“Evelyn and Susan’s perspectives and stories are not just entertaining, they’re incredibly telling of how the country music industry got to the billion-dollar business it is today,” shares Morris Higham President, Clint Higham. “Our community, business and industry’s changing every day and it’s of upmost importance we all appreciate and respect its roots as we build on what their generation of leadership established.”

Johnny Cash’s legendary tour bus, JC Unit One, is now on display to the public outside of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

Guests can step inside and experience a piece of country music history during the venue’s tour hours. Access to JC Unit One is included with the purchase of a regular Ryman tour admission ticket.

Cash used the bus for the 1991 “Highwayman Tour” that transported Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson, and it traveled to Nashville from its permanent home at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The bus’ journey to the Ryman is part of the venue’s partnership with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to showcase the Ryman’s significant rock and roll history.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with the Rock Hall and honored to have JC Unit One at the Ryman,” says Gary Levy, Ryman Auditorium General Manager. “Johnny Cash is a music icon with significant ties to this building. It was here that he graced the Grand Ole Opry stage for the first time, where he crossed paths with June Carter Cash and where the iconic ‘Johnny Cash Show’ found its home.”

In 2022, the Ryman was designated as an official Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Landmark and launched Rock Hall at the Ryman, a new exhibit in partnership with the Rock Hall.

“While the Ryman is known as the Mother Church of Country Music, the partnership and exhibit honors the 100+ Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, including Johnny Cash, who have performed on the Ryman’s hallowed stage throughout its 131-year history,” says Greg Harris, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame President & CEO.

Artists will perform in their respective cities at some of Europe’s top venues, including The O2 in London, The OVO Hydro in Glasgow and The SSE Arena in Belfast, which is making its debut at the festival. Kane Brown and Old Dominion are headlining for the first time and will be joined by Brad Paisley, marking his third time as the event’s headliner.

These headliners will be joined by stars such as Carly Pearce, Brothers Osborne, Jake Owen, Lauren Alaina, Brian Kelley, Elle King and Drake Milligan. Priscilla Block will return for her first main stage set as well. The Country Music Association’s (CMA) Introducing Nashville will also be a part of the weekend featuring three Nashville songwriters who will be taking the main stage to share their work and their stories.

Heading into its eleventh year, C2C is expecting tens of thousands of fans to be in attendance this year as the turnout has only grown since the beginning of the festival in 2013. “From ticket sales to streaming, country music has seen its best year yet in the U.K. and C2C has been a key element to that success,” says Milly Olykan, CMA Vice President, International Relations & Development. “The festival continues to provide opportunities for fans to discover new artists, while also giving more established Nashville artists international exposure and profile. We are incredibly proud to continue to partner with C2C and engage with the invaluable industry and media in the U.K. who work to further our genre year-round.”

Legendary broadcaster and BBC Radio 2 presenter Bob Harris will be hosting the event for the 10th time, and more announcements will be made in the coming months.

Tickets go on general sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023.
