Mercury Records artist Billy Currington has garnered a string of seven No. 1 singles including “Don’t,” “Good Directions,” “Let Me Down Easy,” “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” “People Are Crazy,” “Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer” and “That’s How Country Boys Roll.”  He’s sold millions of albums and has been selected to tour with Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Sugarland and Carrie Underwood.  Currington recently headlined his own tour with support acts Kip Moore and David Nail. His multiple nominations include two 2010 Grammy nominations (Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song) for “People Are Crazy,” which also received nominations for Single and Song of the Year from the Academy of Country Music, as well as Single, Song and Video of the Year from the Country Music Association.
Currington will release his first album in three years, We Are Tonight, on Sept. 17. The highly anticipated album features the hit single “Hey Girl,” which was written by Rhett Akins, Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano and produced by Dann Huff. The single garnered Currington’s biggest first-week track sales ever and has remained in the Top 25 on the country singles sales chart for five consecutive weeks. Currington worked with three producers on We Are Tonight including longtime producer Carson Chamberlain, Dann Huff and Shy Carter.
Currington taps into the amazing Nashville songwriter community for We Are Tonight, as well as covering fellow surfer Jack Johnson’s “Banana Pancakes.” The album features intimate moments on “23 Degrees and South,” youthful nostalgia on the title track “We Are Tonight” and a fun, playful side on “It’s Hard To Be A Hippie” which features Willie Nelson.

The tracklist for Cassadee Pope‘s upcoming debut Country project, Frame By Frame, has been revealed. The album will release Oct. 8 on Republic Nashville. The 11-song project was produced by Dann Huff, with Nathan Chapman, Max Martin and Shellback contributing to selected tracks. Pope co-wrote four of the 11 tracks on the album, and is previewing tracks from the album on iTunes.
“I’m so grateful to the fans and Country radio for the amazing reaction to ‘Wasting All These Tears,’” said Pope, who previewed the track “You Hear A Song” for fans.

The music industry from Down Under will be well-represented at this year’s 14^th Annual Americana Music Festival and Conference Sept. 18-22 in Nashville. More than 20 Australian artists, including The Bushwackers, The Hillbilly Killers, Paul Kelly, Mustered Courage, and Melody Pool will hit Nashville to perform at the roots music conference, which continues to grow in popularity.
The 2013 Americana Music Festival marks the fourth consecutive trip to Nashville by Sounds Australia, a government-supported music organization dedicated to spreading the music of Australia abroad. Since 2010, Sounds Australia has maintained a strategic partnership with the Americana Music Association that promotes the exchange of American and Australian music between the two countries. Sounds Australia produces an additional suite of networking and showcasing events for Australian artists attending, including The Aussie BBQ.
