Hurricane Harvey Relief Telethon To Broadcast From Nashville, L.A., And New York

A massive star-studded Hurricane Harvey relief telethon is set to air on ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and CMT on September 12 that will include appearances by George Clooney, Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand and Reese Witherspoon, among others, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The one-hour special will be based in Los Angeles, with stages in Nashville and New York. The Nashville segment will be co-hosted by Witherspoon and Blake Shelton and will air live from the Grand Ole Opry House.

“Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief,” organized by Houston rapper Bun B and Scooter Braun, will also feature a performance from Texas native George Strait from his own San Antonio benefit concert. The show will broadcast live on the East Coast and replay on the West Coast and will also be streamed online via Facebook and Twitter during the East Coast airing.

Other stars set to appear during the broadcast include Jamie Foxx, Rob Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Dennis Quaid, Julia Roberts, Kelly Rowland, Adam Sandler, Ryan Seacrest, and Michael Strahan, with more stars set to be announced.

Telethon proceeds will benefit the United Way of Greater Houston, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, Direct Relief, Feeding Texas and The Mayor’s Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief (administered by the Greater Houston Community Fund) through the Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief Fund managed by Comic Relief Inc. Phone lines, text messaging and digital donations will be open at the beginning of the show and conclude one hour after the show ends.

The final nominees for select categories for this year’s Country Music Association Awards were announced Monday (Sept. 4) on Good Morning America. Brothers Osborne, Lauren Alaina and Dustin Lynch announced the final nominees in the Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Vocal Duo of the Year categories. The Cadillac Three Bring Sold-Out ‘Legacy’ Show To Country Music’s Mother Church

The Cadillac Three brought their hard-rocking show to their hometown last night (Aug. 31) with a sold-out performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

TC3 opened their first headlining show at the Mother Church with the title track from their last album “Bury Me in My Boots” before launching into other hits including “Party Like You,” “Tennessee Mojo,” “Graffiti” and “Drunk Like You.” The 90-minute set also encompassed new tunes from their current album Legacy—which released Aug. 25 on Big Machine Records—including the lead single “Dang If We Didn’t,” “American Slang” and “Cadillacin.” An encore kept fans on their feet with the emotional “Legacy” and “Take Me to the Bottom,” both of which are penned about lead vocalist Jaren Johnson‘s wife.

“This is by far the best night of these three long haired’s lives,” he said before launching into the last song of the night, “The South.”

TC3 return will return to Europe this fall for their headline Long Hair Don’t Care Tour with Brothers Osborne and Broken Witt Rebels.

Friday Night’s Live On The Green Event Postponed

Live On The Green’s Friday night (Sept. 1) show has been moved to Sunday, Sept. 3 due to ongoing inclement weather.

The event site will open at 12:30 p.m., with music beginning at 1:45 p.m. Sheryl Crow will perform at 8:30 p.m. Other artists confirmed for the show include Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, SHEL, Goodbye June, Ron Gallo, and The Whistles & The Bells.

Live On The Green’s Saturday (Sept. 2) show will go on as scheduled.

All VIP Lounge and VIP backstage tickets for Friday will be honored on Sunday (Sept. 3). Refunds will be available for those who are unable to attend. All VIP Lounge and VIP Backstage tickets for the Thursday, (Aug. 31) show, which was also canceled due to inclement weather, will be honored for either Saturday (Sept. 2) or Sunday (Sept. 3).

Americanafest Announces Additional Performers, Including The Lumineers, Wynonna & The Big Noise

The Americana Music Association℠ has announced 12 additional artists slated to perform at the 18th Annual AMERICANAFEST℠: The Americana Music Festival & Conference, which runs from Sept. 12-17 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The six-day festival will fill the city with legends, newcomers, award winners, and buzz bands, showcasing the breadth of Americana’s influence. With almost 300 artists and bands participating, the event promises to be, as described by MOJO Magazine, the “roots alternative to the GRAMMYs® and South by Southwest.”

MusiCares Announces Relief Fund For Music Industry Members Affected By Hurricane Harvey

MusiCares is lending a hand to those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey by establishing a relief fund to support members of the music community affected by the storm. Assistance will include help with basic living expenses such as shelter, food, utilities, transportation, medical expenses, doctor and hospital bills, medications, clothing, instrument and recording equipment replacement, relocation costs, home repairs, debris removal, and more.

Those wanting to donate to the fund can visit grammy.com/musicares/donations and choose “Hurricane Relief” in the gift designation drop-down menu. The Recording Academy has also implemented a Hurricane Harvey employee donation program, which matches donations made by its staff dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000. Previous’ disaster relief efforts were also organized for victims of the Gulf and Nashville floods, as well as Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Katrina.
