Jen Conger (FBMM, Business Manager)

Jen Conger
Jen Conger quickly moved up the ranks to become a business manager at FBMM, after becoming the first female associate business manager in the firm’s history and doing so at a record pace of under 10 years. In Jen’s almost two decades of experience within the music industry, she has mentored a broad list of accomplished artists who have collectively received 17 Grammy Award wins, along with many ACM, CMA, Billboard and Golden Globe awards. She is a member of the ACM, the CMA, SOURCE, The Recording Academy and The Country Music Hall of Fame Troubadour Society, as well as an alumna of the Society of Leaders in Development (SOLID) and a member of the Leadership Music Class of 2020. Jen played an integral role in the development and execution of seven sold-out concerts held at Bridgestone Arena, in which the proceeds—over $4 million to date—benefited the Country Music Hall of Fame. For the last nine years, she has organized a clothing and instrument donation on behalf of her clients, with donated items totaling over $110,000 given to the W.O. Smith Music School, and in 2018, was involved in the preparation of a sold-out benefit concert in October of that year, which raised over $700,000 net for various music industry-oriented charities, including MusiCares.

JoJamie Hahr has been with BBR Music Group for six years, previously serving as the VP of Promotion at BBR management group before assuming the role of VP of Marketing. Prior to joining the BBR team, JoJamie served as the National Dir. of Field Promotion for The Valory Music Co., after being promoted from Dir. of SE Promotion and Marketing. Her 20 years in the industry includes stops at UMG, WSIX and WWKA. Since taking the helm of the then newly created marketing department at BBR Music Group, she has grown the department into an industry leader. Mandy Gallagher Morrison (City National Bank, Vice President/Senior Relationship Manager)

With 16 years of music industry banking experience, Mandy’s specialty is helping her clients meet their financial goals. She was recruited by City National Bank in 2011 to help launch its Nashville office, making her the youngest relationship manager in the bank’s entire Entertainment division at the time. She was promoted to vice president in just two years, and has played an integral role in the bank’s growth story as it’s become Nashville’s premiere entertainment bank, now serving over 80% of the country music industry. Just a year after joining City National, Mandy helped to start the Troubadour Society, an organization for young professionals that supports the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. As one of the founding leaders, she spearheaded the collaboration with the Hall of Fame to launch the organization, and is still a member today. She is currently an active board member of the T.J. Martell Foundation and a member of the nonprofit SOURCE, of which she sat on the board for eight years including as board president in 2018 and past president and program committee chair in 2019. She is also heavily involved in Leadership Music after graduating from the program in 2015. For the past two years, Mandy has hit over 200% of her client goals, and has significantly grown both the number of clients City National serves in Nashville and the assets managed on clients’ behalf.

As Sr. Creative Director for Universal Music Publishing Group Nashville, Missy Roberts represents a catalog of writers that includes Ingrid Andress, Paul DiGiovanni, Justin Ebach, Derrick Southerland and more, and has cuts “The Truth” (Jason Aldean), “Young And Crazy” (Frankie Ballard), “Sippin’ On Fire” (Florida Georgia Line), “I Met A Girl” (William Michael Morgan), and more. After an internship in marketing at Sony Records, Missy was hired by the A&R department as assistant to industry vet Tracy Gershon. Missy launched her publishing career at Island Bound Music, running the office, exploiting the expansive catalog and handling day to day management of Sony artist Crystal Shawanda and Dreamworks Records artist Gary Nichols. From there she moved to Disney Music Publishing where she helped start the Nashville office. Jennie Smythe began her career in the mid-1990s working for Elektra Entertainment, Spivak-Sobol Entertainment, Disney’s Hollywood Records and more. In the early 2000s, she moved to YAHOO! Music as Director of Marketing and Promotion which eventually led her to move to Nashville to work for Warner Bros. Records’ New Media Department and then as Clear Channel’s Senior Director of Content and Marketing. In January of 2008, Jennie launched Girlilla Marketing. Her company helps build brands and marketing strategies across genres and mediums including music, film and sports. Girlilla Marketing’s clients include Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill, Brett Young, Lee Ann Womack, Darius Rucker, Hootie & the Blowfish, Maddie & Tae, Chrissy Metz and more. Jennie is also a breast cancer survivor who led her company throughout her 15 months of cancer treatment. She was a 2019 Chairperson for the CMA Foundation and serves on the board of Music Health Alliance. She is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Music and is also a member of the CMA, SOURCE, and a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For 20 years, Stephanie Wright has been an integral part of Universal Music Group’s A&R department, where she aids A&R initiatives for Capitol, EMI, MCA and Mercury, including talent recruitment, artist development and overseeing respective recording projects for UMG artists such as Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Dierks Bentley, George Strait, Jon Pardi, Little Big Town and more. Her major artist signings include Sam Hunt, Kacey Musgraves, Jordan Davis, Brandon Lay, Kassi Ashton, Adam Hambrick, and Parker McCullom. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Stephanie came to the music business through her cousins, the Platinum-selling sibling trio SHeDAISY. BREAKING: Clay Bradley Named To New Post At BMI

BMI announced Wednesday (Feb. 26) that longtime music executive Clay Bradley will return to the company as its Vice President of Creative in Nashville. Beginning on March 17, Bradley will lead the Creative team in BMI’s Nashville office and report directly to BMI’s Sr. VP of Creative, Alex Flores.
“There is no better advocate for songwriters than Clay Bradley,” said Flores. “He has dedicated his career to fostering relationships with Nashville’s songwriting and publishing community and has a unique and innate ability to identify and nurture promising creative talent. I have no doubt that he will continue to build on the incredible success of our team in Nashville, and I am thrilled to welcome Clay home to BMI.”
Said Bradley, “It is a tremendous honor for me to come back to BMI to represent the world’s greatest songwriters. My passion for this creative community is beyond compare, and I am grateful to return to a company I love having gained new knowledge, perspectives and experiences over the last five years. Bradley left BMI in 2015 and went on to found and run Eclipse Music Group, an artist development and publishing company, home to Katie Pruitt, Early James, and Big Machine artist Payton Smith.
He previously spent seven years as Assistant Vice President of BMI’s then Writer/Publisher department. During that time, Bradley was responsible for signing Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney and Casey Beathard to BMI, among many others, and also helped develop some of BMI’s most well-known events like the Key West Songwriter’s Festival and the BMI Parking Lot party featuring Jake Owen which evolved into BMI’s “Rooftop on the Row” series.
Previous roles include positions as the Vice President of A&R for both Sony BMG/Nashville and MCA Records, as well as Creative Director for Acuff Rose Music Publishing. Bradley began his career in 1991 as an Associate Director at BMI immediately following college.
Bradley and his family are ingrained in the Nashville music community. His grandfather Owen Bradley, father Jerry Bradley and uncle Harold Bradley are all in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Garth Brooks To Receive Icon Award At Billboard Music Awards

Garth Brooks will be recognized with the coveted ICON Award at the upcoming 2020 Billboard Music Awards. As a 19-time Billboard Music Award winner, Brooks joins only eight other artists who have ever received the honor. The superstar will also take the stage during the show for a highly anticipated performance.
Brooks is the first and only artist in history to achieve eight Diamond-certified albums at over 10 million album sales each. He remains the No. 1-selling solo artist in U.S. history, certified by the RIAA with more than 156 million album sales. He has earned nine No. 1 albums on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart (the most of any country artist), with chart-toppers in the ’90s, ’00s and ’10s. Seven of them debuted at No. 1. Brooks also claimed 17 No. 1s on the Top Country Albums chart and 89 hits on the Hot Country Songs chart including 19 No. 1s. In January, Billboard announced that Brooks became the first artist to have appeared on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in the ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s, ‘10s and ‘20s.
Previous recipients of the ICON Award include Cher, Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey.

Dulaney has over 150 cuts, more than 25 singles, and seven No. 1 songs to his credit. His songs have been included on albums that have sold more than 50 million copies, including the 8x multi-platinum album Breathe from Faith Hill, Jason Aldean’s 2x multi-platinum My Kinda Party; Rascal Flatts’ 4x multi-platinum album Me And My Gang, and the 4x multi-platinum Kenney Chesney album When The Sun Goes Down. Dulaney also wrote on Jason Aldean’s latest album 9.

“For me, growing up so inspired by country music through my grams and knowing Nashville was the home of that music, I always wanted to find a way to get over there,” said Rhodes. “When Ben and I met and we had the opportunity to go to Nashville, it was everything I imagined that it could be and more. To be surrounded by so much talent, it was quite overwhelming. Then getting in there with people who’d been writing songs for years…that was quite daunting to try to do that and to try to put our Brit spin on it at the same time. Maren Morris Plans ‘RSVP: The Tour’ For Summer

Maren Morris has a busy summer planned with “RSVP: The Tour” set to launch in June with festival dates at Governors Ball Music Festival and Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience, in addition to headlining stops including Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Supporting acts James Arthur, Ryan Hurd and Caitlyn Smith will join her on select dates of the tour. Morris also has her biggest show to date with her headlining appearance at the Houston Rodeo on March 7.
Tickets for “RSVP: The Tour” go on sale on March 6. Citi is the official credit card of the tour, and as such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning March 3-5.
Last week marked the second consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart for Morris’ song “The Bones,” making it the first solo female back-to-back No. 1 since 2012 and her fourth No. 1 single to date. It also marks the first solo female Billboard country No. 1 since her single “GIRL” topped the chart last summer. In addition, the mom-to-be recently appeared on the 50th season of Sesame Street in an episode titled “Let’s Draw.”

Weekly Register: Country Albums Chart, On-Demand Streaming Chart Hold Steady

There are no changes this week on the country albums chart Top 5, according to Nielsen Soundscan. Luke Combs‘ What You See Is What You Get continues its stronghold on the chart’s pinnacle with 25K in total activity. Combs also retains the No. 2 spot this week, as his debut album This One’s For You moves 18.3K in total activity.
Blake Shelton‘s Fully Loaded: God’s Country is again at No. 3 with 14K, followed by Morgan Wallen‘s If I Know Me staying at No. 4 with 14K. Chris Stapleton‘s 2015 album Traveller retains the No. 5 slot this week, moving 11K in total activity.
The on-demand country streaming song chart also holds steady in the Top 5, with “10,000 Hours” from Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber remaining at No. 1 (11 million streams), and Maren Morris‘ “The Bones” at No. 2 (8 million streams). Diplo (ft. Julia Michaels and Morgan Wallen) stays at No. 3 (6.89 million), while Old Dominion‘s “One Man Band” is at No. 4 (6.86 million streams), and Gabby Barrett‘s “I Hope” rounds out the Top 5 (6.2 million streams).
for KING & COUNTRY Sets Summer Tour

Notably, Echosmith singer Sydney Sierota will join the duo each night to perform for KING & COUNTRY’s “God Only Knows,” reprising her role from the Timbaland-produced remix of the hit song. for KING & COUNTRY’s version of the song featuring Dolly Parton recently earned the Grammy Award this year for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. The duo also took home a Grammy for their album Burn The Ships. They are currently on their burn the ships | world tour, which has boasted 46 sold-out shows to date.

Demetria Kalodimos Announces Support To Relaunch ‘The Nashville Banner’

Longtime Nashville journalist Demetria Kalodimos is making major donations to help support the challenging commercial media landscape.
Kalodimos says in a statement obtained by MusicRow, “Together with Meredith Corporation, I am pleased to make a significant donation to The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, which will be used by Nashville Public Media, and a separate donation to the Tennessee Coalition for Open Government. Both organizations champion the public good and the bedrock values of quality journalism. I appreciate Meredith Corporation’s willingness to support this important cause.”
This effort joins Steve Cavendish with plans to relaunch Nashville news media brand The Nashville Banner as a non-partisan, nonprofit, civic news organization, with hopes to begin publishing online later in 2020.
Cavendish, a former Editor-in-Chief of the Nashville Scene, will serve as president and editor for the soon-to-be-relaunched The Nashville Banner, with former longtime WSMV news anchor Kalodimos as executive producer, according to its website.
More than a year ago, Cavendish announced his plans to revive The Nashville Banner, which was published from 1876 until 1998, when it closed after being purchased by Gannett, parent company of The Tennessean. The Nashville Banner briefly ran online content in 2014, under the ownership of Bruce Dobie.
According to the official site, The Nashville Banner will be a free (no paywalls) digital service, and will focus on local news, beginning with an emphasis on Metro government, Capitol Hill and state government, education, business and criminal justice, though the goal is to eventually add additional coverage areas.
“Soon, we will announce the online return of a familiar name: the Nashville Banner. This ‘electronic newspaper’ will also offer high-quality video, audio and visual storytelling designed to quench the thirst for meaningful news coverage that is fair, accurate, interesting, thorough, and human.” Kalodimos says.
“Nashville Public Media is an emerging civic news organization that will operate as a nonprofit, offering relevant, intelligent, in-depth coverage of local news and issues of importance to the city,” says Kalodimos. “The contribution will help seed this important and unique new resource in a challenging commercial media landscape.”
She adds, “It remains my wish to offer a significant public platform to talented, experienced reporters and visual storytellers whose voices contribute greatly to our public conversation.”
Kalodimos joined Nashville news station WSMV in 1984, and became one of Nashville’s most well-respected news anchors. After more than 30 years with the organization, Kalodimos and WSMV had an acrimonious parting of ways in 2017. In 2018, she sued WSMV for age discrimination; it was announced in January 2020 that they had settled the suit.
Caitlyn Smith Signs With UMPG Nashville

Singer-songwriter Caitlyn Smith has signed an exclusive global publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Nashville.
Smith, who is signed with Shane McAnally and Jason Owen‘s Monument Records, will release her sophomore album Supernova on March 13. She is a co-writer on the 4x multi-platinum No. 1 hit “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” from Meghan Trainor ft. John Legend. She also co-wrote the 2020 Critics’ Choice Award-winning “Glasgow” from the movie Wild Rose.
Missy Roberts, Senior Creative Director at UMPG Nashville said, “I had the opportunity to work with Caitlyn years ago. To be reunited with her is a dream come true. She is an immense and timeless global talent. It’s a privilege to have her join the UMPG family.”
