Singer-songwriter Kaden Trev received the 2026 Dolly Parton Songwriters Award from the BMI Foundation at the Ryman & BMI Block Party in Nashville on June 4.

Kaden’s winning song “Write My Wrongs” was selected from a record-breaking 600 applicants by a panel of music industry experts. The award was presented by BMI Foundation Trustee and BMI Vice President, Creative Clay Bradley following performances by Kat Luna, Robyn Ottolini, Tyce Delk, and TRIPPP.

In 2025, Trev advanced to Hollywood Week on American Idol, expanding his audience and music industry experience. This fall, he is set to attend Middle Tennessee State University to continue studying the music business while pursuing his dream of becoming a successful country artist.

“One of my favorite things is being able to put music to emotions and experiences into words,” shares Trev. “I’m super grateful for this award. It’s been really encouraging me to keep pursuing this dream that I have, and this passion that I love so much.”

The Dolly Parton Songwriters Award is an annual, national competition open to aspiring songwriters with a prize of $10,000 for the best original song entry in the genres of Americana, blues, bluegrass, contemporary Christian, country, folk, and roots. Originally established in 2015 as the Nashville Songwriting Scholarship, the award was created to celebrate BMI’s 75th anniversary and pay homage to the musical epicenter and “Songwriting Capital of the World,” Nashville. In 2022, the program was revised to honor the creativity and generosity of the legendary artist Dolly Parton with an endowment from Sony Music Publishing’s Rusty Gaston as well as a contribution from country superstar Luke Combs.

‘Entire State Of Tim Montana’ Hits The Map July 31

Tim Montana‘s new album, Entire State Of Tim Montana, is set for release July 31 via BMG. In addition to the album announcement, Montana has dropped a second single from the upcoming record, “Brown Sugar,” featuring guitar powerhouses Billy F Gibbons and Slash.

“Recording ‘Brown Sugar’ with Billy F Gibbons and Slash was a full-circle moment for me,” says Montana. “My first brush with music was finding a Guns N’ Roses tape, and later I became a die-hard ZZ Top fan. Billy is like family, and seeing him play “Brown Sugar” at our Wise River Club made me realize it had to be the one. To have these childhood heroes, Billy, who’s become a mentor, and Slash, who lit that early spark on this track with me is beyond a dream.”

Named by none other than actor Charlie Sheen, Entire State Of Tim Montana includes sixteen tracks featuring assists from music’s heaviest hitters including Jerry Cantrell, Slash, Billy F Gibbons and cameos from Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen, and Robert Patrick. Montana’s sound blends Southern rock swagger with modern hard-rock production, and bridges the worlds of various genres, earning him a growing audience across multiple formats. His music reflects the rugged independence of the American West, with lyrics rooted in hard work, freedom, and living life on your own terms. The album news follows the first single from the new record “Break Me Down.”

“This record is a collision of my heroes and my scars, the loudest moments I’ve ever lived and the quiet truths I couldn’t outrun,” adds Montana. “Don’t worry there’s some fun moments too. It’s not over-polished, it’s not safe, but it’s exactly who I am.”

1. “Courtroom” feat. Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen & Robert Patrick

Hunter Flynn has signed with WME for global representation.

Hailing from Eastern Kentucky, Flynn attended Eastern Kentucky University studying biomedical sciences before a 2021 car accident led him to focus on art and music. After leaving his insurance job and moving back into his grandmother’s basement, he began drawing charcoal portraits, writing songs and performing at open mic nights across Kentucky.

Over the last two years, Flynn has played nearly 200 shows across the United States and Europe. In 2025, he was named Artist in Residence at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, and he recently signed with Big Machine Records/Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment.

“Hunter is the kind of artist you feel immediately. There’s a real depth and honesty to what he creates, and audiences are connecting with it in a powerful way. Between the growth we’re seeing and the foundation he’s built on the road, he’s just getting started,” shares WME’s Lance Roberts and Geoff Turner.

“I’ve spent the last few years building this one show at a time,” says Flynn. “To now have a team like WME behind me feels incredibly meaningful. I’m proud of where I come from, proud of the music we’re making, and excited for what’s ahead.”

The news was revealed during MCA Presents: Live At The SkyDeck this past weekend during CMA Fest. MCA executives surprised Proehl with a new custom jersey celebrating his signing.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the MCA family,” says Proehl. “Music has changed my life in ways I never expected, and I’m grateful to have a team that believes in me and what I’m building. This week has been really special, and I feel like I’m just getting started. I can’t wait to share what’s next.”

After achieving his dream of playing in the NFL, a rookie-season injury ended Proehl’s football career sooner than expected. During his recovery, he discovered his passion for music.

His music career gained national attention when a video of him singing to his grandmother went viral on TikTok, earning tens of millions of views and showcasing his vocal talent. The viral moment led to an appearance on American Idol and helped him build a growing fanbase drawn to both his voice and genuine personality.

He recently released his new track “She Got It.”
