Jake Scott Plots U.S. Headline Tour

Jake Scott

Jake Scott is set to hit the road this summer on his first headline tour in three years, dubbed “Jake Scott Live in ‘25.” Special guest MaRynn Taylor will join as direct support.

Pre-sale tickets are available today (April 14), before the general on-sale begins this Friday (April 18).

As an artist, Scott has amassed over one billion streams, the double-Platinum “She Likes It” in collaboration with Russell Dickerson and a debut album in 2023. As a songwriter, he has songs recorded by Morgan Wallen, Aloe Blacc, Jason Mraz, Sara Evans and others. Scott has toured with artists across formats including LANY, Ben Rector, Brett Young and, most recently, Dickerson.

“I absolutely cannot wait to hit the road again this summer. It will be my first US headline tour in 3 years and so much life and new music has happened in that time,” shares Scott. “These shows will be a little different than my shows in the past. I want to take the audience deeper. I want to go on a journey and explore the highs and lows of love, loss and living—and their respective musical dynamics. We’re going to dance and sing. We’re going to sit in the stillness of the moment and revel in the magic of music that connects us. I’ve never been more excited for a tour.”

The tour kicks off on July 18 in Fort Worth, Texas, with stops in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Nashville and more. It concludes on Aug. 23 in Scott’s hometown of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Penned alongside Daniel Ross and Ryan Hurd, Scott will release his new single, “How To Be Lonely,” this Friday. Scott produced the track himself.

Carrie Underwood wrapped her three-plus year run of “Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency” at Resorts World Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas on April 12.

Performing 72 shows of the production, Underwood is not only the first, and longest-running, resident headliner at Resorts World Theatre, but also has the longest-running Las Vegas residency of any solo female country music artist—marking a historic milestone on the iconic Las Vegas Strip. The show had multiple sold-out runs, and Underwood performed to over 300,000 fans.

AEG Presents Las Vegas Executives Bobby Reynolds, Kris Lingle-Griffith and HC Rowe present Commemorative Plaque to Carrie Underwood backstage at Resorts World Theatre

During her final bow, fans took to their feet with applause and cheers in the sold-out showroom as Underwood shared her gratitude in the heartfelt farewell performance.

“’Reflection’ has truly been one of the standout moments of my performing career thus far,” says Underwood. “It is a production I am so very proud of and have had so much fun performing over the course of this residency these past 3+ years. I’ve loved being in Las Vegas where we’ve welcomed fans from all over the world who have come to see us. It’s been so special to reflect on the first 20 years of this career I am so grateful for, and have loved being on stage with my band and all the performers every night. Thank you AEG Presents, Resorts World, and Las Vegas for making my first residency such an amazing experience!”

On April 11, executives from AEG Presents Las Vegas and Resorts World Las Vegas presented Underwood with a commemorative plaque and custom gaming table felt to celebrate her closing weekend of “Reflection.” In a private reception, AEG Presents’ Bobby Reynolds and Resorts World Las Vegas’ Alex Dixon led a champagne toast, commemorating Underwood’s illustrious residency.

“Carrie’s final performances mark the end of an era,” says Reynolds, Senior Vice President, AEG Presents Las Vegas. “Carrie and Reflection have made Las Vegas residency history, a testament to the tremendous artistry, talent, and fandom that have powered this production since the venue’s opening. The AEG Presents family could not be more proud to have presented this show alongside Carrie and her team over the last three years, as well as the Resorts World Las Vegas family. Her incredible talent has left an indelible mark on our team, this venue, and her fans, and we will cherish the memories from her unforgettable performances.”

“Carrie Underwood’s Reflection was a defining chapter for Resorts World Theatre,” adds Dixon, CEO of Resorts World Las Vegas. “As our first headliner, Carrie helped put our venue on the map as a top destination for live entertainment on the Strip. Her unforgettable performances and connection with fans created lasting memories for all of us. We’re honored to have shared this journey and look forward to continuing to bring world-class moments to Las Vegas.”

One dollar from each ticket sold for “Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency” is being donated to Make-A-Wish America. A highlight of Underwood’s closing night performance included her reunion with former Make-A-Wish child Noel Miller, who Underwood met through the charity organization in 2008 at age 12. Miller, now 28, joined Underwood onstage to sing her No. 1 hit, “All-American Girl,” a popular moment in the show that she had revived for “Reflection” after first introducing it to audiences in her “Carnival Ride Tour” in 2008.

Underwood has been involved with the organization as a WishMaker for nearly 20 years. Earlier in the evening, Underwood presented Make-A-Wish with a check for $236,844 on behalf of all the fans who have attended “Reflection” over the past few years. The donation comes at a fitting time for the organization as April is World Wish Month and 2025 is the 45th anniversary of Make-A-Wish.

Eric Church’s Chief Cares Breaks Ground On Housing Development To Aid Hurricane Survivors

Eric Church‘s Chief Cares, the nonprofit he founded with wife Katherine in 2013, has officially broken ground on its first mid-to-long-term housing development to support families displaced by Hurricane Helene.

Dubbed Blue Haven, the development is located in Avery County, North Carolina—an area close to Church’s heart and home. Blue Haven will offer roughly 45 homes across a mix of one to three bedroom floorplans, and work is already underway, with families expected to move in by late summer. Chief Cares and its partners are acquiring the land, preparing the infrastructure and building the homes, and selected families’ housing expenses will be financially assisted to allow them to live affordably for up to three years while they rebuild their lives. At the end of that term, families will have the option to purchase their homes, with support from Chief Cares in accessing any available resources.

“The land we stand on today sits in the heart of a county that has meant so much to me,” Church said during the event on April 11. “This is a place my family and I are proud to call home… Mountain people, my people.”

Following Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of Western North Carolina in September 2024, Chief Cares shifted its mission to address the need of keeping people in their communities once disaster strikes. Focused on providing families a path to stability, homeownership and dignity, the effort is being launched under a new initiative called “Blueprint for the Blue Ridge,” a scalable model for disaster recovery rooted in housing, community and mid-to-long-term support.

“We realized that keeping the people in their communities after disaster was a problem with no real solution. We wanted to change that,” Church says. “This is truly a hand up, not a handout. Dignity and community are key to the long-term success of the Blueprint.”

Chief Cares has plans to expand into neighboring counties, with the ultimate goal of creating a national model for disaster recovery rooted in permanence, pride and place.

The Ryl Company Receives Additional Funding From Morgan Wallen, Austin Neal, Seth England, Cam Fordham, More

Morgan Wallen & Blodin Ukella.

The Ryl Company, which includes Ryl Tea, has received $15 million in Series B funding.

Created in 2022 by Blodin Ukella and Morgan Wallen, the new funding will fast track the tea company’s expansion, marketing campaigns and product creation. This adds to the brand’s $7.5 million Series A funding in 2024, marking $30 million in growth equity total.

This funding will also get Ryl Tea into over 40,000 stores by the end of the year, including chains such as Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, Costco, Publix, HEB, Meijer, 7-Eleven and more. Additionally, the investments will help Ryl expand its team to over 100 employees by the end of 2025, when they started with just nine in 2023.

“The Ryl Company is surging into an exciting phase of hyper-growth, and this capital raise will assist us in scaling to new heights, especially as we expand our retail presence and national distribution,” shares Chairman of The Ryl Company Leigh Feuerstein. “Under the direction of Founder and CEO Blodin Ukella, the team’s deep connection with consumers has set the stage for great success. Blodin is a remarkable leader with a clear vision and indefatigable energy, and we’re backing him with unbridled confidence in his ability to fuel Ryl’s expansion.”

The Series B funding round included investments from Wallen, Get Engaged Media’s Cam Fordham, Alex Dermer, Ben Hiott, Austin Neal of Sticks Management and Seth England of Big Loud Records.

“I’ve been a believer in Ryl Tea from the beginning and keep them stocked at home and while touring out on the road,” adds Wallen. “It’s exciting to see the brand continue to expand and grow, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Ryl Tea is guided by a leadership team with extensive experience in building and scaling beverage brands. At the helm is Ukella, a former Chief Strategy Officer at OWYN, acquired by The Simply Good Foods Company, and a former Data Scientist at Bai. He is joined by President Ken Kurtz, known for his leadership as former President of Bai, which was acquired by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, and as former SVP of Fiji Water. Also on the team is Chief Operating Officer Ruben Rafaeli, who previously held the roles of COO at Crook & Marker and SVP of Operations at Bai.

“This round isn’t just a financial milestone — it’s a signal of confidence in our mission, our momentum and our belief that Ryl Tea is on track to redefine what a modern beverage brand can be,” says Ukella. “We are in the ‘leap’ phase of our business journey — scaling rapidly with new distribution channels, exciting marketing initiatives and product development. This investment will help us expand our offerings and expand our distribution by 4x, all while maintaining the same level of quality and commitment to our customers’ health and well-being.”

TN Tourism Teams With Songwriters To Enhance Online Travel Experience For Impaired Visitors

The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development is partnering with songwriters in an industry-first initiative called “Sound Sites” to enhance the online travel experience for blind and visually impaired visitors, redefining accessibility through the power of music.

The groundbreaking program replaces standard image descriptions known as alt-text on TNVacation.com with inspiring song lyrics, allowing travelers using screen readers to experience Tennessee’s landscapes, culture and spirit through poetic, immersive storytelling.

YouTube video

Capitalizing on one of Tennessee’s most iconic assets—its legendary songwriters—the initiative creates a richer and more evocative way for visually impaired travelers to connect with the state. Instead of generic, uninspired alt-text such as “image of a mountain” or “street at night,” visitors will hear lyrical descriptions that bring Tennessee’s scenic beauty to life.

“Music has the power to connect us all, regardless of how we experience the world,” says Billy Montana, a Tennessee-based songwriter with hits recorded by Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw. “Sound Sites is a beautiful example of how we can use creativity to make travel more accessible and welcoming to all. I’m honored to be a part of a project helping people feel more connected to Tennessee and to each other.”

Montana is one of 12 songwriters bringing Sound Sites to life, joining an all-star lineup that includes country music legend Dolly Parton, Brooks & Dunn’s Kix Brooks and songwriter Michael Farren. The initiative also features a diverse range of artists, from Americana storyteller Hilary Williams, daughter of Hank Williams Jr., and indie-rock powerhouse Nicole Atkins to Nashville hitmakers David Tolliver, Adam Wood, Brian Davis, Thomas Edwards and Jack Settle. JP Williams, a celebrated blind singer-songwriter, brings an especially meaningful perspective to the project, helping to ensure that Tennessee’s landscapes are not only seen, but truly felt.

More than seven million Americans have a non-corrective visual disability, including more than one million who are blind, according to the National Federation of the Blind, and that number is expected to double by 2050. Recognizing the need for more meaningful and engaging online experiences, Tennessee is going beyond traditional accessibility standards. While accessibility standards have traditionally focused on functionality, Sound Sites elevates them to an art form, using human creativity to ensure all travelers can experience Tennessee with wonder and excitement.
