Miranda Lambert & Parker McCollum Raise Over $8.5 Million For Central Texas Flood Relief

Miranda Lambert, Parker McCollum and a host of notable Texas artists, actors and athletes rallied together for the “Band Together Texas” benefit at the Moody Center in Austin on Sunday night, (Aug. 17) raising over $8.5 million for The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and Central Texas Community Foundation.

The concert to honor the lives lost in the Central Texas floods and celebrate the everyday heroes and first responders who saved countless others was a sold-out affair, spanning nearly three hours and livestreaming via iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, YouTube, Facebook and nugs.net, with a call to action directing fans to donate to continued relief efforts.

Actor Matthew McConaughey opened the show underscoring the importance of the event: “The devastating floods that took so many lives, businesses and homes last month broke a lot of hearts. As that day gets further away into the distance of our rearview mirror, it’s only natural that our concern and attention recede just like those flood waters—but we must remember, for the families who suffered, they are just beginning the lengthy journey to rebuild their lives. Tonight is about restoration… we are here to revive – Because even in the hardest times, we have to believe in the power of joy. So while we honor the heavy truths that brought us here, we will also celebrate the light that must continue to shine.”

Lambert kicked off the music with a duet with McCollum on the George Strait classic “True,” then she performed “Bluebird” and “The House That Built Me,” before introducing friend Wade Bowen for a touching in memoriam honoring victims lost in last month’s floods. As Bowen sang an acoustic rendition of “A Beautiful World,” names, images and videos of flood victims flashed across the screen as the crowd remained silent in a powerful moment.

“I’d like to give a shout out to Miranda Lambert, she’s the whole reason all of this is going on,” McCollum said as he took the stage to perform “Solid Gold Country” and “Handle On You.” “She texted me right away and asked, ‘What can we do?’ I said, ‘I’ll do anything I could ever possibly do to help these people.’ So, good on all of y’all for being here on a Sunday night. I’ve never been more proud to be born and raised in the great state of Texas than I am tonight.”

Between the 29 songs played throughout the night, actor Dennis Quaid; former UT Longhorns coach Mack Brown and players Emmanuel Acho, Colt McCoy and Vince Young; MLB star and Houston native Roger Clemens; TV host and Dallas native Chris Harrison; and Austin-based fashion designer Kendra Scott took pause to reflect on moments of remembrance, bravery and resiliency in the Hill Country.

Jason Aldean, who performed at the Moody Center on Saturday, (Aug. 16) extended his stay to join as a surprise guest after generously donating his stage and production crew. Taking the stage with an uptempo performance of “She’s Country,” Aldean then welcomed Lambert on stage for a duet of “Amarillo Sky.”

“I tried to come up with something to say earlier. It was profound, it would do what it needs to do, but I don’t think there’s a song on Earth – no words, no rhyme, no reason – that can heal the pain, the suffering, the sorrow brought on by what’s happened here. So, I’m just going to share a story with you,”  Ronnie Dunn said before offering up a show-stopping performance of “I Believe” with The Levites Music Group choir.

After Cody Johnson’s performance of his No. 1s “Dirt Cheap” and “Til You Can’t” as well as a cover of “How Great Thou Art,” the all-star roster of Texas talent including Lambert and McCollum, Ryan Bingham, Wade Bowen, Ronnie Dunn, Dylan Gossett, Jack Ingram, Johnson, Lyle Lovett, Lukas Nelson, Jon Randall and Randy Rogers joined together on-stage for a triumphant final singalong of “On The Road Again” to wrap the night.

Luke Bryan Claims 32nd No. 1 Single With ‘Country Song Came On’

Luke Bryan.

Luke Bryan has claimed his 32nd No. 1 single at country radio with “Country Song Came On.”

The song was written by Ryan Beaver, Dan Alley and Neil Medley and appears on Bryan’s Mind Of A Country Boy album released last fall.

“When I first heard this song, it took me right back to the clubs and honky tonks I played before I got to Nashville,” says Bryan. “I love how the writers kept the simplicity in the track and let the lyric paint the story. WOW #32! I love standing on that stage for country fans more than ever. Thank you for showing up for me.”

The MusicFest At Steamboat Returns In January Celebrating 40 Years

The MusicFest at Steamboat returns Jan. 5 – 10, 2026, and is celebrating a monumental milestone 40th anniversary this year.

The festival got its start in the early 1980s as a way to bring friends and musicians together on the slopes, and has steadily grown into the nation’s largest and most beloved winter music festival—a six-day alpine marathon of nearly 200 performances featuring over 70 acts across multiple mountain venues.

The 2026 lineup will celebrate both the icons and the up-and-coming artists, and performances will span iconic venues like The MusicFest Dance Hall (Colorado’s largest), the Gravity Haus Tavern, Fish Camp, Stargazers at 10,525 feet, world’s only Dung Beetle Saloon and the legendary MusicFest Base Camp stage nestled at the foot of the Rockies.

“Back in the ‘90s, when mainstream music was all polish and no soul, we coined our motto: Get Real,” says Founder John Dickson of Dickson Productions. “Forty years later, we still mean it. The MusicFest is a celebration of authenticity—in music, in connection, in experience.”

MusicFest has sold out 23 years in a row, and 2026 is poised to mark the 24th. Thousands of fans lock in their packages a year in advance, and all-inclusive packages begin at around $1,000 and include 6 days/5 nights of lodging, 4 full-day lift tickets, and access to every show.

Since its first outdoor show in 1986 held in the middle of the Rockies with beer freezing in the bottles, MusicFest has played a defining role in shaping the Red Dirt and Texas music scenes. Alumni of the fest include Pat Green, Robert Earl Keen, Randy Rogers, Turnpike Troubadours, Parker McCollum, Koe Wetzel, Cody Johnson, Charley Crockett, and Reckless Kelly, among hundreds of others.

Keith Urban & Tamworth Country Music Festival Partner To Launch Scholarship

Keith Urban.

Keith Urban and Australia’s Tamworth Country Music Festival have partnered to launch the “Keith Urban Rising Star Scholarship,” which will provide an emerging artist the opportunity to perform, write, record and meet industry personnel in Nashville, as well as enjoy two days of recording time at Urban’s recording studio, The Sound.

“Sometimes all a musician needs is an opportunity to be heard or someone to help nurture their talent,” says Urban. “Having the opportunity to do that not only inspires me, but I’m also hoping that in some way this scholarship will serve to inspire others.”

“Keith is the living embodiment of the Tamworth Festival pathway to success and together we want to help give other artists the opportunity to take Australian country music to the world. It’s wonderful that Keith continues to recognise and support the industry that helped shape his career,” adds Peter Ross, Executive Manager of the Tamworth Festival.

Applications will open in January 2026 and will be available here.

Morgan Wallen Foundation Celebrates Re-Opening Of Nashville Parkwood Ballpark

The Morgan Wallen Foundation (MWF), along with Major League Baseball & MLB Players Association Youth Development Foundation (MLB-MLBPA YDF) and other local funders, partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville to unveil the newly revitalized baseball and softball complex, Parkwood Community Club, in north Nashville last Wednesday (Aug. 13). The renovation project for the ballfields includes new field turf, Musco lights, fences, dugouts, scoreboards, parking, concrete and roadways for two youth fields.

The project has been a two-year-long effort following MWF’s $500k donation in 2023. This ballfield renovation is part of a broader community effort led by Habitat for Humanity, which encompasses the creation of a 59-acre Metro Park and the construction of 26 Habitat for Humanity homes.

“Growing up, I spent countless hours out on the diamond. Those hours taught me life lessons I still hold close today and helped me realize the value baseball can have on youth,” says Wallen. “Being a part of this project and revitalizing these Parkwood fields – right here in Nashville – to ensure the kids have a place to play for many years to come is something I am really proud of.”

“Revitalizing these ballfields was a massive team effort led by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see them in fighting form for hundreds of kids to enjoy and play ball. It’s a dream come true,” adds Kathleen Flaherty, Executive Director of MWF. “This was the foundation’s first field restoration grant and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”

To commemorate MWF’s donation, two of the fields have been named in Wallen’s honor including the Boots Field, named after his Mamaw Boots, and Norris Field, named for Norris Lake in Norris, Tennessee, where Wallen spent time growing up.

Ray Stevens To Sell CabaRay Showroom

CabaRay Showroom. Photo: Courtesy of Ray Stevens

Ray Stevens has announced he will sell his West Nashville-based CabaRay Showroom, but still plans to perform his previously scheduled live concerts at CabaRay as soon as he is able.

Following a mild heart attack earlier this year, Stevens underwent minimally invasive heart surgery in a Nashville hospital. In late July, he underwent a second procedure where doctors placed two stents to clear other blockages. He spent a few days in a Nashville rehabilitation facility and is now at home resting to regain his strength.

“At 86 and with my recent health problems, it’s probably time to slow down, and selling CabaRay is the first step,” says Stevens. “But in the interim, I still plan on doing shows once I’m fully recovered. I still have a lot I want to do in the recording studio, so I’ll focus all of my energy in that direction along with making videos to go along with the music from time to time.”

Stevens opened the CabaRay Showroom (5724 River Road) in 2018 and has performed there almost exclusively ever since. The 35,000-square-foot CabaRay features a main showroom with upstairs and downstairs seating for over 700, a backstage production area complete with dressing rooms, a lobby, a bar and kitchen, ticketing offices, a state-of-the-art studio, as well as office space.
