2017 Country Radio Hall Of Fame Induction Dinner And Awards Ceremony Sold Out

Tickets for the Country Music Radio Hall of Fame Induction Dinner and Awards Ceremony are officially sold out.

This year’s event will honor the Country Radio Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017, including off-air broadcasters Tim Closson, Charlie Ochs, Mel Owens, and radio personalities – Joe Wade Formicola, Linda Lee, Jim Mantel, and The Good Morning Guys (KUAD/Ft. Collins, CO).

Martina McBride will accept the 2017 CRB Artist Career Achievement Award, alongside Mike Dungan who is being honored as the recipient of the 2017 President’s Award.

The event will take place Wednesday, June 21 at 6 p.m. at Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt.

The Country Radio Hall of Fame was founded in 1974 and is dedicated to the recognition of those individuals who have made significant contributions to the radio industry over a 20-year period, 15 of which must be in the Country format.

Alexandria Hardy Promoted To GM At ‘MusicRow’ Reporting Station KYYK

Alexandria Hardy
has been promoted to General Manager for Palestine, Texas station KYYK, a MusicRow CountryBreakout Chart reporting station. Her duties also include overseeing operations for KYYK 98.3, KNET 1450AM/95.7 FM in Palestine, KKHA 92.5 in Bay City, and KBYC 104.5 in Bay City.

Hardy has been with Tomlinson Leis Communications for seven years. Since her hiring in 2010, she has worked as Billing Director, Traffic Director, On-Air Personality, Music Director and Office Manager. She was selected for the Rusty Walker Scholarship for the 2017 Country Radio Seminar, and attended the Texas Association of Broadcasters Annual Convention and Trade Show in 2015.

Hardy, 28, looks forward to growing her stations and bringing quality music to her community.

Black River Entertainment Adds Dave Dame To Radio Promotions Team

Black River Entertainment Sr. VP of Radio Promotion Mike Wilson has announced the hiring of Dave Dame as Director of Radio Promotion West Coast.

“I have known Dave for years. He has great relationships with his stations and will be a fine addition to the Black River team,” says Wilson.

Dame arrives at Black River Entertainment with 23 years of experience in radio promotion from Sony Music Entertainment, specifically with Arista Records and BNA/Columbia Records. During that time, he worked singles to radio for Kenny Chesney, Brooks and Dunn, and Alan Jackson. Most recently, Dame worked with Show Dog Nashville.

“I’m very excited to join Mike and his Black River team. I have known and worked with Mike for many years,” says Dame. “I get to play this incredible music from these exciting artists for my friends at radio. This is going to be great fun, and I can’t wait.”

Reporting to Mike Wilson, Dame is officially on board beginning today, Monday, June 12, and is based out of Yorba Linda, California. Dame joins the newly added Theresa Ford, who also begins today. Dame can be reached at [email protected] and Ford at [email protected].

Radio Disney Country Launches On 99.1 FM In Los Angeles

Radio Disney Country has launched KRDC in Los Angeles, airing at 99.1 FM and on 1110 AM. The announcement was made Friday (June 9) by Radio Disney Network GM Phil Guerini from the Radio Disney Country stage at CMA Music Festival in Nashville. KDRC officially launched at 12 p.m. PT on Friday (June 9).

Kelsea Ballerini, Hunter Hayes, Bailey Bryan, Scotty McCreery, and more joined Radio Disney Country host Betsy Spina on the stage in Nashville to celebrate the announcement.

Radio Disney Country is also available on iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Apple Music, and Spotify.

Guerini said, “As country music continues to deliver some of the biggest artists in music today, we are broadening the reach of Radio Disney Country through both terrestrial and digital extensions of its brand.”

iHeartMedia Names Tom Poleman As Chief Programming Officer

iHeartMedia has named Tom Poleman as its Chief Programming Officer, effective immediately. Under a new long-term agreement, Poleman will also remain President of iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group. He will continue to report to Bob Pittman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of iHeartMedia, Inc.

In addition to co-producing iHeartMedia’s national marquee events including the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the iHeartRadio Music Awards, the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, the iHeartCountry Festival, iHeart80s Party, the iHeartSummer ’17 Weekend by AT&T and iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina, Poleman and his team will continue to oversee programming and music strategy, talent development and artist relations for iHeartMedia’s more than 850 radio stations, which reach more than a quarter of a billion listeners a month, and provide key support for its national team of programmers across the country. He will also continue to head up iHeartMedia’s music discovery and emerging artist initiatives, including the Artist Integration Program and the On the Verge program, which have championed artists like Sam Smith, Maren Morris, Fifth Harmony and James Bay, as well as Sam Hunt, Bleachers and Lukas Graham, early in their careers.

Poleman was named President of iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group in August 2011, where he was tasked with unifying iHeartMedia’s programming initiatives and capabilities and magnifying the company’s size and scale. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia and oversaw programming and marketing for all iHeartMedia radio properties in New York, Philadelphia, Miami, Boston and Providence. Poleman’s extensive programming background includes overseeing Z100/New York, one of the most successful pop stations in the history of the medium. He has also led programming at Top 40 radio stations in New Haven, Connecticut and Houston, Texas and was named the youngest corporate programming executive for AMFM Broadcasting in 1999. Poleman has received numerous accolades throughout his 30-year career, including being inducted into the FMQB CHR Programmer Hall of Fame and being honored numerous times as Major Market Mainstream Top 40 Program Director of the Year at the Radio Music Awards. He has also made multiple appearances on Billboard Magazine’s Power 100 list, including being listed in the top 20 in 2017.

Chris Janson Launches Latest Hit With ‘Fix A Drink,’ Sets EP Release For June

Chris Janson may sit down and fix himself a drink to celebrate the success of his aptly-titled latest single, “Fix A Drink,” since the song is the most-added song at radio this week. Janson recently made a video for the fun-filled new tune featuring cameos from buddies Luke Bryan, Michael Ray, Dustin Lynch, LOCASH, and the Davisson Brothers Band, that recently debuted on CMT. The track is from Janson’s upcoming Fix A Drink EP, slated to release June 9.

“I am feeling extremely blessed to have the most added song this week,” said Janson. “I am so thankful and humbled. To all of my friends in country radio, thank YOU for believing in me. Hope to see everyone out on the road this summer!”

Janson joins Sam Hunt next month for the 15 In A 30 Tour, kicking off June 1, and will join Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “Soul2Soul” tour later this summer.
