ACM Lifting Lives Teams With Montgomery Gentry

acm lifting livesMontgomery Gentry has been added to the string of nationwide ACM Lifting Lives Club Shows.

Participating clubs have agreed to donate a portion of each ticket sold to ACM Lifting Lives, and the money raised will go to help fund organizations that are improving lives through the power of music.

Stoney’s Rockin’ Country in Las Vegas will host Montgomery Gentry for this club benefit show on November 4.

BBR Music Group Adds Executive Assistant

BBR Music Group has hired new Executive Assistant Jennifer Coen. Coen will report to BBR Music Group EVP Jon Loba, General Manager Rick Shedd, and Sr. VP Promotion Carson James.

CTM Writer’s INK Hires Chris Poole As Creative Manager

Chris Poole, co-founder of Paravel Management, has joined CTM Writer’s INK as Creative Manager and will also continue managing artists under the CTM umbrella.

A native of Thomasville, Georgia, Poole served as co-founder/artist manager at Paravel Management where he worked with Seth Ennis (Sony Nashville), Hank Murphy (Sony/Provident), and digital artist Alec Bailey. In addition to his role as an artist manager, he has assisted Universal Nashville and Borman Entertainment with digital marketing campaigns involving social media influencers and country artists.

Liz Hengber Signs Publishing Deal With Starstruck Writers Group

Starstruck Writers Group has renewed its worldwide publishing agreement with songwriter Liz Hengber.

Hengber has an impressive list of credits that go back 25 years. She’s written five No. 1 singles and had over 75 songs recorded by artists including Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Easton Corbin, Trisha Yearwood, Andy Griggs, Peter Cetera, The Steeldrivers and many more.

Her most recognizable songs include “And Still,” “For My Broken Heart,” “Forever Love” and “It’s Your Call,” all recorded by Reba McEntire.

In 2011, Hengber won Song of the Year at the Canadian Gospel Awards for “A Fathers Love” recorded by both Bucky Covington and High Valley. This year she had two songs on The Steeldrivers’ Grammy Award-winning album The Muscle Shoals Recordings. Hengber also co-wrote Ronnie Dunn’s current single, “Damn Drunk” which features Kix Brooks.

Nashville Songwriter Angel Snow Signs To Nettwerk Music Group

Angel Snow is completing work on her first album for Nettwerk Music Group. The Nashville-based artist has signed to the label and publishing divisions of the company.

Snow’s album is expected to be released in 2017. She has re-recorded one of her most popular songs, “Secret,” for the project. The new version will be released in the coming weeks. Her album will have electronic music elements added to her Americana roots influences.

Snow is scheduled to perform at Pilgrimage Music & Arts Festival on Sunday (Sept. 25).

The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) honored more than 20 writers whose songs topped the Billboard Airplay, Digital, Hot or Mediabase charts between April 2016 and July 2016. Songs were recognized in both country and contemporary Christian music. The recognitions took place Monday evening (Sept. 19) during a massive No. 1 party at the Music Mill, NSAI’s Music Row headquarters.

The Maggie Cavender Award (in recognition of extraordinary service to the songwriting community) was presented to Ralph Murphy, VP of ASCAP Nashville. Church Music Publishers Association President Elwyn Raymer was presented the NSAI President’s Choice Award in recognition of significant contributions to the betterment of all songwriters, chosen by NSAI President Lee Thomas Miller.

JT Harding Inks Deal With Warner/Chappell Music, THiS Music

Warner/Chappell Music and THiS Music have signed Nashville songwriter JT Harding. His writing credits include Dierks Bentley’s latest hit, “Different For Girls,” featuring Elle King.

“Adding JT Harding to our THiS Music team is a dream come true,” said Rusty Gaston, General Manager/Partner, THiS Music. “His energy is electric, his creativity is contagious and his work ethic is second to none. We’re looking forward to getting his new songs on the streets.”

Harding also co-wrote Keith Urban’s “Somewhere In My Car,” Kenny Chesney’s “Somewhere With You,” and “Blake Shelton’s “Sangria.”

Harding first moved from his native South Detroit to Los Angeles to pursue music; there, he worked as Marilyn Manson’s assistant, made a demo tape with prize money he won on the VH1 game show Rock & Roll Jeopardy! and was subsequently signed by EMI and Atlantic Records. After penning his first hit, Uncle Kracker’s single “Smile,” Harding relocated to Nashville and joined the city’s songwriting community.

THiS Music was formed in 2006 by General Manager Gaston and songwriters Tim Nichols and Connie Harrington, and launched in partnership with Warner/Chappell Music.

Starstruck Writers Group has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with songwriter and producer Evan Coffman.

The southwest Arkansas native moved to Orlando, Florida, in his early 20s and began producing local and national acts like Twenty One Pilots, Halestorm and Matt Hires. In 2015, he moved to Nashville to focus on songwriting. Since then, he has earned cuts with The Lacs (Average Joes Entertainment) and Waterloo Revival (Show Dog Records).

“I knew during our first meeting that I wanted to sign Evan. Not only are his songs and tracks fresh and unique but he works harder than anyone I know. His dedication to creating the best music paired with his work ethic are two things that are sure to make him a success in Nashville and beyond,” said Starstruck Creative Director Courtney Allen.

ole cnb logosole has secured a $500 million USD credit facility from 12 U.S. and Canadian banks led by City National Bank. The independent music publishing and rights management company will use the facility to fund future acquisitions.

The transaction, originally launched as a $400 million facility, generated strong demand from both new and existing lenders, and as a result was increased to $500 million, making it the largest credit facility in independent music publishing industry in recent years.

“We believe the overwhelming demand for the facility speaks volumes to ole’s track record of execution and success, and we look forward to finding new opportunities to continue to scale in existing and complementary verticals as well as to further enhance our technology and data management assets,” said ole Chairman and CEO Robert Ott. “We are pleased to have the financial backing, expertise and support from City National Bank and our other financial partners.”

AIMP Selects Six For Second Annual Songwriters Series

Six rising songwriters have been chosen for the second annual Songwriters Series presented by the Nashville Chapter of the AIMP (Association of Independent Music Publishers). Presented by the Academy of Country Music, the event will take place on Tuesday (Sept. 20) at The Country from 5–7 p.m.

New-and-noteworthy independent songwriters will be featured in writers’ rounds hosted by hit songwriters Bob DiPiero and Craig Wiseman. The six songwriters chosen for this year’s class are Brinley Addington, Ash Bowers, Dustin Christensen, Erik Dylan, Jeffrey East and Josh Jenkins, who each represent different independent Nashville-based publishers.

“I am so looking forward to co-hosting the 2016 AIMP new writer showcase along with my buddy Craig Wiseman,” said DiPiero. “AIMP will be showcasing some great new talent for our Music Row community and beyond. I am honored to help support AIMP on this special night. Getting to hang out with Craig is gonna be fun on a stick!”

The Songwriter Series, created by a committee of industry professionals and headed by SMACKSongs’ Michael Baum and Wrensong’s Ree Guyer, is an event that was launched last year to showcase some of Nashville’s best standout songwriters and bring the Nashville independent publishing community together for a night of celebration. The Class of 2016 was chosen from more than 50 submissions and voted on by a committee of industry professionals.

The evening is made possible by the Academy of Country Music, Anderson Benson and Fifth Third Bank.
