The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) honored more than 20 writers whose songs topped the Billboard Airplay, Digital, Hot or Mediabase charts between April 2016 and July 2016. Songs were recognized in both country and contemporary Christian music. The recognitions took place Monday evening (Sept. 19) during a massive No. 1 party at the Music Mill, NSAI’s Music Row headquarters.

The Maggie Cavender Award (in recognition of extraordinary service to the songwriting community) was presented to Ralph Murphy, VP of ASCAP Nashville. Church Music Publishers Association President Elwyn Raymer was presented the NSAI President’s Choice Award in recognition of significant contributions to the betterment of all songwriters, chosen by NSAI President Lee Thomas Miller.

The NSAI No. 1 Party was sponsored by Klindt, Cole & Associates.
