Craig Campbell Kicks Off Nationwide ‘See You Try’ Tour In August

Craig Campbell is hitting the road this August on his headlining See You Try Tour.

Kicking off Aug. 3 in Providence, Kentucky, the tour will crisscross the U.S. from California to Virginia with more than a dozen stops, visiting cities like San Diego, Omaha, Knoxville and more set to be announced soon. He’ll also play a few festivals like the Red, White & Boom in Lexington, Kentucky, and will wrap his summer-long run with a homecoming show in his hometown of Lyons, Georgia on Oct. 11.

New on this tour for fans will be meet-and-greet ticket packages and special, limited-edition See You Try Tour T-shirts, which will be available at each tour stop.

Campbell’s latest single, “See You Try,” is already inside the Top 40 at country radio and rising.

TobyMac To Embark On Intimate Theater Experience In November

With a new track, “Everything,” released today (July 25), TobyMac and his DiverseCity Band have announced a 12-city run in November.

Having headlined 18 arenas earlier this year, the rare, intimate TobyMac & DiverseCity Band: The Theatre Tour with special guest Ryan Stevenson is set to traverse the east coast and Midwest including stops in Texas, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and more.

With music, humor, worship and prayer, the nights will be full of women encouraging women about matters that affect women. Each evening will end with Mandisa and her friends joining the audience for a personal, encouraging “Girl Chat” and time of ministry, which will be different every night with the audience shaping the conversation.

Reporting directly to Rivadavia and currently in his new capacity, Tomlinson manages day-to-day strategy for his designated artist roster, while acting as webmaster for SonyMusicNashville.com and overseeing development and content for the label group’s social media channels.

In this role, Tomlinson created and implemented digital marketing campaigns for such artists as Snoop Dogg, Kirk Franklin, Travis Greene, The Walls Group and Koryn Hawthorne, among other RCA Inspiration artists.

From June 2015 to June 2016, Justin Tomlinson was RCA Inspiration’s Marketing & Publicity Assistant. Prior, he was Consumer Research Analyst for Sony Music Entertainment (November 2014-February 2015) and Talent Production Assistant for Viacom/BET (January 2013-June 2014).

Garcia who is Trisha Yearwood’s longtime Music Director and Garth Brooks’ lead guitarist, has celebrated songwriting cuts with Jason Aldean, Brett Eldredge, Trace Adkins, Parmalee and more.

The Lantern Tour Concerts For Migrant, Refugee Families Sets Nashville Date

Emmylou Harris, Jackson Browne, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, Lila Downs, Steve Earle, and Graham Nash will perform on a fall concert series sponsored by the Women’s Refugee Commission that will visit five cities in support of families targeted by the Trump administration’s policies.

“The Lantern Tour: Concerts for Migrant and Refugee Families,” will take place from Oct. 23–28 with shows in Nashville (Oct. 23), Washington, D.C. (Oct. 25) Collingswood, New Jersey (Oct. 26), Boston (Oct. 27) and New York (Oct. 28). Not all artists will appear on all dates, and a full list of venues can be found here.

“The Women’s Refugee Commission has been on the front lines in advocating for the safety of women and children. Musicians Corner Announces September Sundown

Musicians Corner, Nashville’s outdoor music destination since 2010, will introduce September Sundown, a new series that will take place each Thursday evening in September. The concerts will showcase local Nashville artists, and will also include a variety of food trucks, the Musicians Corner Pub, local artisans, and Kidsville activities.

“We’re excited to expand our programming to offer September Sundown in Centennial Park,” said Justin Branam, Musicians Corner Program Director. “After a warm spring, we can’t wait to return to the park in September for live music in the cool, autumn evenings.”

September Sundown will take place on Thursdays, Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 5 – 9 PM. Each event will raise awareness and donations for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, the featured charity partner for the series. The Sept. 13 concert will be presented in partnership with the AmericanaFest and will feature five showcasing artists.

Producer Michael Knox Launches Music Knox Records With BMG

Music Producer Michael Knox has opened Music Knox Records in conjunction with BMG.

Through the new label imprint, Knox will focus on developing new artists, though no signing announcements have been made as of yet. Knox will also continue in his role as VP for peermusic Nashville.

“I know this sounds cliché, but it’s a dream come true for me,” Knox said. “I’m excited to work with Zach [Katz, President, Repertoire & Marketing, BMG U.S.], Jon [Loba, EVP, BBR Music Group] and the entire BMG family. The venture follows the announcement of Knox’s radio show, Knox Country 360.

Are Institutional Investors The Future Of The Music Business?

Q Prime management is experimenting with a new form of investing for its Grammy-winning band Cage The Elephant.

With a co-publishing deal (which includes mechanical, public performance, sync, and print royalty streams), Cage The Elephant is the first to take part in a new offering from Royalty Exchange, which began offering royalty financing opportunities with iconic catalogs today (July 24).

Called Private Syndicates, Royalty Exchange creates Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) designed to hold music catalogs from those top-tier artists. For Cage The Elephant, Royalty Exchange agreed to purchase the co-publishing catalog of the band’s first four studio albums, including the 2017 Grammy-winning Best Rock Album Tell Me I’m Pretty (2015), the Grammy-nominated Melophobia (2013), Thank You, Happy Birthday (2011) and their self-titled release (2008).

Accredited investors can then buy shares of that entity, which grants them a proportional share of the royalty income it generates. For Cage The Elephant, 40 individual and institutional investors participated, attracted by the potential for double-digit yield (based on the catalog’s five-year compound annual growth rate, industry growth projections, the catalog’s cash flow and other factors).

“We expected strong demand for this incredible catalog, but we were taken aback by how fast investors reacted,” said Royalty Exchange CEO Matthew Smith.

Currently, the band’s catalog is administered and publishing is co-owned by Sony/ATV, which is expected to continue in that role, notes Billboard.

The magazine goes on to explain that the “accredited and institutional investors” able to invest include Wall Street financial institutions (bank, investment bank, insurance fund or investment advisors), a pension fund, a charitable organization, trust, or corporation (with assets exceeding $5 million) or an individual (with a net worth of more than $1 million, excluding the value of that person’s home).

Brenda Lee, Jeannie Seely, Ben Folds, Ray Stevens To Get Stars On Music City Walk Of Fame

Ben Folds, Brenda Lee, Jeannie Seely and Ray Stevens will be the next artists to receive stars on the Music City Walk of Fame during an induction ceremony on Aug. 21, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in Music City Walk of Fame Park. The event is free and open to the public.

“This summer’s Music City Walk of Fame inductees reflect the incredible breadth of the many musical gifts Nashville has sent out into the world,” Mayor David Briley said. “Ben Folds’ sharp songwriting and piano playing, the vibrant voice Brenda Lee started sharing with country music fans as a teenager, the great vocals and stage presence that Jeannie Seely has brought to the Grand Ole Opry for 50 years, and Ray Stevens’ witty lyrics and memorable songs are all testimonials to the magic that happens every day in Music City.”

 The inductees will receive the 81st, 82nd, 83rd and 84th stars on the Walk of Fame. Inductees are recognized for their significant contributions to preserving the musical heritage of Nashville and for contributing to the world through song or other industry collaboration.
