Blake Shelton and acclaimed showrunner Lee Metzger have launched their new production company, Lucky Horseshoe Productions.

This announcement follows Shelton’s departure from NBC’s The Voice, after serving as a coach for 23 seasons. Shelton and Metzger, who executive produced the singing competition show’s first 13 seasons, met on set of The Voice and have since developed a successful business relationship.

Shelton has 28 No. 1 country radio singles and has received numerous awards, including six ACMs, three AMAs, ten CMAs, 11 CMTs, six People’s Choice Awards and more. Metzger previously worked as Executive Producer on HBO Max’s Legendary in addition to writing, directing and producing the podcast adaptation of Stephen King’s short story Strawberry Spring, which he is currently adapting as a feature film.

Their last collaboration, hit competition series Barmageddon, was recently nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award and just wrapped its second season.

Lucky Horseshoe Productions now marks a new chapter in Shelton and Metzger’s partnership. Represented by Verve, the company plans to produce captivating, genre-spanning content across various platforms using the founders’ expertise and strength as a driving force.

“I’m excited to partner with my longtime friend and creative rainmaker, Lee Metzger,” says Shelton. “He was one of the first people I met at The Voice and we’re enjoying working together currently on Barmageddon. We’ve always been in sync on ideas and projects that interest and excite us. So long as Lee doesn’t screw this up, it’s going to be great,” he laughs.

“Over the years of working with Blake, we’ve created some incredible T.V. moments, now with the success of Barmageddon, we’ve realized we have a creative point of view that an audience loves to watch,” says Metzger. Laughing, he adds, “I’m looking forward to producing our own brand of entertainment and years of success with Blake. Besides, now that he’s left The Voice, it’s not like he has anything better to do.”
