Songwriter Paul Overstreet Plans Theater Musical
Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Paul Overstreet begins staging his first musical next week. Overstreet is having workshop run-throughs of his musical Sneaky Old Time at The Ruskin Group Theater in Santa Monica, Calif. He says the show is a narrative constructed around his 30-year catalog of hits.
The show is seeking a Nashville venue as it develops.
Overstreet’s hits as a songwriter include “When You Say Nothing At All,” “On the Other Hand,” “Love Can Build a Bridge,” “Forever and Ever Amen,” “Diggin; Up Bones,” “Daddy’s Come Around,” “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” and “Some Beach,” among many others.
He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003.
