Garth Brooks Adds Additional Allstate Arena Shows

trishayearwoodgarthbrooksFans will have more than one chance to see Garth Brooks‘ World Tour (featuring Trisha Yearwood) at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill.
Additional shows have been added, slated for Friday, Sept. 5, Saturday, Sept. 6, Thursday, Sept. 11, Friday, Sept. 12, and Saturday, Sept. 13. Tickets for all shows, including the previously announced Sept. 4 show, went on sale at 10 a.m. this morning (Friday, July 25).
There is a ticket limit of six. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com, or by calling 1-800-745-3000, or Ticketmaster Express at 1-866-448-7849. No sales will be available at the venue box office or at Ticketmaster outlets on July 25.
Ticket prices are $65.50, which includes the $56.94 ticket price, a $2.56 tax and a $6.00 service charge.

A Conversation With Kenny Rogers Opens Exhibit

KENNYROGERSfeat2013 Hall of Fame Inductee Kenny Rogers will participate in a special interview at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 2:30 p.m. CST.
The expert-led conversation will take place in conjunction with the debut of Kenny Rogers: Through the Years, a biographical exhibit in the museum’s East Gallery opening Aug. 15, 2014, and running until June 14, 2015.
Rogers will recount memories from throughout his history-making life and career during the interview, which will be held in the museum’s CMA Theater. Archival photographs and video will supplement the storytelling. The event is included with museum admission and free for museum members; seating is limited and a program pass is required. The interview will be streamed live online here.
Opening weekend programs include a songwriter session on Aug. 16 with Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Don Schlitz, who penned Rogers’s signature story song “The Gambler” and a film screening of 2001’s Kenny Rogers: Live by Request on Aug. 17. A companion book also entitled Kenny Rogers: Through the Years will accompany the exhibit.

“Kenny Rogers redefined and elevated country music superstardom in every sense,” said Museum Director Kyle Young. “He blurred traditional genre lines and substantially expanded the core demographics of country music’s audience, all by being true to his unique artistic vision. His versatility is astounding. We could not be more thrilled to share this detailed presentation of his story.”

Rogers has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and has charted a single in each of the last seven decades. According to the RIAA, he has one diamond album, 19 platinum albums, and 31 gold albums. His accolades include three Grammys, six Country Music Association awards, and eight Academy of Country Music awards. Rogers was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
The exhibit will feature dozens of artifacts including costume pieces from the Gambler TV movie series, Dolly Parton’s rhinestone-embellished velvet jacket and dress she wore during a performance of “Islands in the Stream” with Rogers, and a die-cast metal replica of the Camaro race car driven by Kenny Rogers in the film Six Pack.

Warner Bros. Records artist Charlie Worsham drew a packed house in Nashville during the third installment of Pickin’ On The Patio 2014 Wednesday (July 23). The event lived up to its name as Worsham offered a slew of songs from his album Rubberband. The Mississippi native also included a medley of Beatles hits in his set. Gigi’s Cupcakes, Aramark, Ajax Turner, Bud Light, and Patron were sponsors for the occasion.
Pickin’ On The Patio is held on the WMN patio the fourth Wednesday of every month from May through September. Mark your calendars for the next Pickin’ On The Patio to be held on Aug. 27.

The Cadillac Three brought their party to the Grand Ole Opry recently, where they celebrated their debut on the venue’s historic stage. The Nashville trio’s Jaren Johnston, Kelby Ray and Neil Mason performed their debut single, “The South,” as well as “Party Like You” and “White Lightning” from their upcoming Big Machine Records debut project.

All three band members had family present for the occasion, including Jaren’s father Jerry Johnston, who is a former drummer for The Grand Ole Opry band.

Monday (July 21), songwriter and artist Victoria Shaw celebrated the 15th edition of ‘Victoria Shaw: Under the Covers’. A show, held at Broadway at Birdland, featured Erich Bergen (from the Jersey Boys movie), Desmond Child, James Dean Hicks, and Ramin Karimloo (a Tony nominee from Les Miserables). Guitarist/singer Sergio Ortega offered instrumental music, while Shaw’s two daughters, Ava and Ruby, sang backup for their mother on one song.

Joe Putnam has joined Star Farm Nashville as VP, National Promotion and Brad Helton will join as Senior Director of Regional Promotion.
A Nashville native, Putnam solidified his relationships at radio during his tenure as VP of National Promotion at Universal Music Group. This appointment reunites Putnam with Star Farm partners Michael Powers and Matt Corbin, as he most recently served as VP of National Promotion at Bigger Picture Group.
Helton, a graduate of the Marketing and Music Business program at Belmont University, has been involved in radio promotion for over 12 years. His relationships are widespread among many territories, most recently responsible for the West Coast promotion efforts at Bigger Picture Group.

Stoney LaRue Debuts Single And Video

stoney larueStoney LaRue’s video “First One To Know” premiered on CMT Pure, Edge and cmt.com today (July 24). It is the lead single from his forthcoming release, Aviator, and the video was directed and produced by Coleman Saunders of Americus Studios.
LaRue teamed with top producers Frank Liddell and Mike McCarthy to craft Aviator, which will be released Oct. 28 via eOne.
His 2011 project Velvet was self-released and debuted at No. 3 on the iTunes chart, as well as top 15 on the Billboard Country Music Album Chart. The Texas native-turned Oklahoma resident is a busy touring artist, and has won multiple Texas Regional Radio Awards.

'Idol' Auditions Coming To Nashville Next Week

SeacrestAmerican Idol producers will be at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium on Wednesday, July 30 auditioning 15 through 28-year-olds for its 14th season.
Wristbands will be distributed beginning at approximately 7:00 AM. There will not be a separate registration day and hopefuls will not be permitted to camp out or line up before 6 AM. More information, including forms and requirements, is available online at americanidol.com.
Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. will return as judges and Ryan Seacrest will return as host this season.
Auditions are also available through social media online using #TheNextIdol.
This year, Idol’s True Believer program allows each contestant the opportunity for $50,000 when they designate those who have believed in them.

Chase Rice Is Ready To 'Ignite The Night'

Rice’s album, produced by hit songwriter Chris DeStefano, rocketed to the top of the iTunes Country Albums chart this week thanks to strong pre-order sales.

Reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year Little Big Town returns as hosts for this summer’s television music event CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock, which airs Tuesday, Aug. 5 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC.
The event brings together four sold-out evenings of live music from June’s CMA Music Festival, which celebrated Country music in its Nashville epicenter.
Adding their chops and charm to the show are Luke Bryan, Eric Church with special guest Lzzy Hale, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton with season 2 contestant of The Voice Gwen Sebastian, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett, Cole Swindell, The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban.
The primetime television special, CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock, debuted in 2004 on CBS-TV as a two-hour event. In 2005, it moved to the ABC-TV, and then expanded to three hours in 2009. The special will air annually on ABC-TV through 2021 and is executive-produced by Robert Deaton.

ASCAP Announces Date for Country Awards

The 52nd annual ASCAP Country Music Awards will be held Monday, November 3rd at downtown Nashville’s Music City Center for the second consecutive year.
The invitation-only, black-tie event will honor the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP’s most performed Country music songs of the past year. Special awards will also celebrate ASCAP’s 100th anniversary. Throughout the evening, songwriters and artists will deliver live performances of the top five most performed songs of 2013.
Recent recipients of ASCAP Country Music Awards include George Strait, Alan Jackson, Ben Hayslip, Josh Kear, Lyle Lovett, Bob McDill, Brad Paisley, Don Williams  and many more.
