Jennifer Nettles' Solo Project 'That Girl' To Release in January
Mercury Records recording artist Jennifer Nettles has teamed with a string of songwriters, including Mike Reid, Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet, Derek George, Butch Walker and Sara Bareilles, among others, for her Rick Rubin-produced debut solo album That Girl. The project will release Jan. 14 and was recorded at the Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, Calif. The project also features a cover of Bob Seger‘s classic “Like A Rock.”
“I started writing this album three years ago,” shares Nettles. “I put no conscious guides or governors on the creation of this album other than to write songs that I want to sing. Working with Rick Rubin was a dream come true and the result is an album that plays to my roots – country, 70’s radio, gospel and singer songwriter.”
