Country Throwdown Tour Adds Gary Allan and Others

The third-annual Country Throwdown Tour announced Gary Allan as the headlining artist, and he will be joined by Josh Thompson, Eric Paslay, and Sunny Sweeney. Rodney Atkins and Justin Moore will appear on select dates.

The 2012 multi-stage extravaganza is expected to reach 20 cities over two months, kicking off in Gulfport, MS, May 18.

“I’ve always been a fan of the Warped Tour, so I thought it was great when they [4 FINI Inc.] came up with the concept of doing a country version of it with the Throwdown Tour,” says Allan. “We’re hoping this is the best tour yet.”

The 2012 outdoor tour brings together top artists and emerging talent, providing a constant stream of music in a festival environment throughout the day. In addition to performances on two main stages, the Bluebird Cafe Stage will spotlight soon to be announced singer-songwriters as they perform in the round.

“We’re proud to continue our relationship with the Bluebird Cafe and some of Nashville’s most talented songwriters,” adds tour co-founder and co-producer, Sarah Baer. “We’re especially thankful for the many people in the music community who have been supportive of trying something new and have helped us give developing artists a home on the tour scene.”

Allan will host a press conference Feb. 27, at The Label in Nashville joined by 4 FINI producers and tour creators Kevin Lyman and Baer discussing further details of the event.
