MusicRow sister publication Nashville Post reports:
After serving Nashville for thirty years, Davis-Kidd Booksellers is closing its doors.
Cincinnati-based Joseph-Beth Group, which purchased the business from founders Karen Davis and Thelma Kidd in 1997, today announced the closure of the store, located in the Mall at Green Hills, as it filed a Chapter 11 reorganization petition in U.S. Bankruptcy Court at Lexington, Ky.
Davis Kidd has operated a CD sales department and has always aided local musicians with indie product.

Can’t click Like ’cause I don’t. Have enjoyed wonderful book signings there with Patsi Cox, Eileen Sisk and Marshall Chapman (Just a couple days ago. She signed an extra 50 copies of “They Came To Nashville” so go get those.) Wonder why the Memphis store is excluded?
What sad news! If not for Davis-Kidd, especially Karen Davis, we would not have the Southern Festival of Books. I worked with Karen and all the other dedicated book people to have a great first festival so that it would become an annual event. Nashville owes a lot to Karen and Thelma for many of the fine projects they supported. I have many memories of the first store in Green Hills Mall and then the move to Graces Plaza and then back to the mall. I spent many hours browsing through the great offerings. Good Bye and Thanks for all the memories.
