Dream 3 Publishing Joins Forces With Kobalt

Dream 3 Publishing has announced a partnership with Kobalt that will include Kobalt’s publishing administration, creative services and sync department.

“Kobalt is the perfect partner for us. We love everyone on their creative team and how much Kobalt adds to our small company,” says Emily Olson, Dream 3 Publishing. “We are excited about all of our future signings and success together.”

Dream 3 Publishing launched in October of 2022 with Olson, Greg Hill and Laurel Kittleson-Cobb at the helm. The partnership announcement follows the signing of the company’s flagship writer Ben Caver.

“I knew I wanted to be involved with Dream 3 from the first conversation I had with them,” says Kevin Lane, Senior Director, Creative at Kobalt.  “The combined experience and expertise of Greg, Laurel and Emily make Dream 3 the ideal partner and a destination for creatives.  The sky’s the limit for what we will accomplish together.”

Luke Combs Reveals Track List, New Song From Upcoming Album ‘Gettin’ Old’

Luke Combs has unveiled the track list for his upcoming album Gettin’ Old, and is debuting a new song from the project, “Love You Anyway,” written by Combs, Ray Fulcher and Dan Isbell, today (Feb. 10).

The track is the second song from Gettin’ Old—a companion to his acclaimed 2022 record, Growin’ Up—which will be released March 24 via River House Artists/Columbia Nashville.

Gettin’ Old features eighteen tracks, including a rendition of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” and finds the superstar exploring themes of family, legacy, love and personal growth on the new collection. The leadoff single from the album, “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old,” was also recently released.

“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now,” reveals Combs. “One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through, or will go through. It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record, and I hope you love it as much as we do.”

Combs kicks off his extensive World Tour next month with 16 stadium shows. With 39 shows across three continents and 16 countries, the record-breaking run is the largest tour ever for a country artist. The upcoming trek includes shows at Arlington, Texas’ AT&T Stadium, Nashville’s Nissan Stadium and Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium, as well as stops in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, France and Belgium.

CMHOF Ups Nina Burghard & Lisa Purcell To Executive Vice President Roles

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has announced the promotions of Nina Burghard and Lisa Purcell to executive vice president roles. Burghard will serve as Executive Vice President of Finances and Operations, and Purcell will serve as Executive Vice President of External Affairs.

Both previously holding senior vice president titles, Burghard and Purcell step into newly created positions and report to museum CEO Kyle Young, providing key strategic counsel.

“Both Lisa and Nina have moved into expanded roles, taking on the supervision of additional departments and scopes of work, helping to strengthen the institution,” shares Young. “Their talents and leadership have been essential to the success of the museum and its growth over the past decade.”

Previously serving as Senior Vice President of Financial Services and Operations, Burghard added the museum’s information and technology department to her responsibilities, as well as the management of the museum’s COVID-19 safety processes during the pandemic. She oversees the museum’s financial operations, including financial statement analysis; company-wide and departmental budget and cash flow preparation and analysis; accounting; and forecasting. Her information and technology oversight includes infrastructure, internal communications, networking and data storage, applications, reporting and data analysis. Additionally, she is responsible for the organization’s human resources as well as the museum’s maintenance and operations departments.

Prior to joining the museum in 1998, Burghard spent a decade with Arthur Anderson LLP, where she managed a number of clients with varying businesses, including healthcare, insurance, benefit plans, not-for-profit organizations and more. She holds a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Tennessee and is a certified public accountant. She is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she serves as a past president of the Tennessee Chapter and past chair of the Industry Committee.

Purcell previously served as Senior Vice President of External Affairs. She has added supervision of the marketing and public relations departments to her scope of work, which supports the museum’s development, education and community engagement efforts. Her leadership areas encompass contributed income, including individual giving, planned giving, membership and corporate partnerships; educational programming; public relations; public affairs; and marketing. In 2022, the integrated external affairs team provided programming and instruction for more than 130,000 individuals in nearly 1,600 in-person and virtual education programs; facilitated a record number of news stories featuring the museum and its initiatives; engaged nearly 150 volunteers; coordinated two Medallion Ceremonies, which induct new Hall of Fame members; facilitated major exhibit and programmatic partnerships; collaborated with digital service providers; and more.

Prior to joining the museum in 2014, Purcell served as vice president of external affairs for Hands On Nashville and worked in the program and administrative departments of diverse nonprofit organizations, ranging from the Frist Art Museum to the music business charity T.J. Martell Foundation. She holds both undergraduate and master’s degrees in art history from West Virginia University and has completed certificate programs in leadership at Belmont and Harvard universities. Purcell serves on the Leadership Music Board of Directors and the Education Board Committee of the Nashville Symphony.

Lainey Wilson’s Bell Bottom Music Celebration To Bring Retro Fun To CRS

Lainey Wilson is bringing some throwback fun to CRS with her late-night takeover, Lainey Wilson’s Bell Bottom Music Celebration, on Tuesday night, March 14.

Attendees are invited to dress the part while dancing to tunes from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and more at the retro party in the Broadway Performance Hall at the Omni Nashville. The show will feature nostalgic, singalong classics from Wilson and friends Alexander Ludwig, Blanco Brown, Brooke Eden, Chase Rice, Chayce Beckham, Craig Morgan, Drake Milligan, Dylan Schneider, Elvie Shane, John Morgan, King Calaway, Madeline Merlo, Parmalee, Tyler Farr and more, performing the songs they grew up on.

Hosted by Blair Garner, the event is a nod to the Disco Party of seminars past and will be a night of music that defined a generation. Wilson’s Bell Bottom Music Celebration will immediately follow Bob Kingsley’s Acoustic Alley and is open to all CRS-registered attendees.

Nate Smith Surprised With Platinum Plaque For ‘Whiskey On You’

Nate Smith was surprised by his Sony Music Nashville, WME, and Core Entertainment teams with a Platinum plaque for his hit single “Whiskey On You.” To celebrate the achievement, he is releasing two new tracks from his upcoming, self-titled album next Friday, “Better Boy” and “Oil Spot.” The full-length album will arrive April 28.

“Whiskey On You” topped the country charts for the second week in a row this week, achieving the first multi-week No. 1 on a debut single since 2019 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Adding to the song’s accolades, “Whiskey On You” was also No. 1 on Canada’s country radio chart for six weeks, making the song the longest-running No. 1 country debut by a male vocalist in the country’s chart history.

Smith is set to perform “Whiskey On You” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Feb. 15. The rising star will be joining Thomas Rhett on his “Home Team Tour 23,” which kicks off May 4 in Des Moines, Iowa, and will visit 40 cities this summer.

Morgan Wallen Returns To MusicRow Radio Chart Peak With ‘Thought You Should Know’

Morgan Wallen makes his way back to the No. 1 spot on the MusicRow CountryBreakout Radio Chart this week with “Thought You Should Know.” The single first peaked on the MusicRow chart in January.

“Thought You Should Know,” co-written by Wallen, Miranda Lambert and Nicolle Galyon, appears on Wallen’s upcoming 36-track album, One Thing At A Time, which is set for release on March 3 via Big Loud/Mercury/Republic Records. The project follows his Dangerous: The Double Album, which remains Billboard’s longest running Top 10 album in history for a solo artist with more than 105 total weeks spent in the Top 10.

Wallen will bring his hits to the road in March when he embarks on his “One Night At A Time World Tour.”

Warner Music Nashville Introduces Artist Jordyn Shellhart With Showcase

Warner Music Nashville introduced artist Jordyn Shellhart with a special industry showcase at The Electric Jane on Wednesday evening (Feb. 8).

Shellhart performed a collection of self-written songs that will be featured on her full-length Warner debut, set for release this spring. The project’s first track “Who Are you Mad At” is out now. Her musical influences range from Emmylou Harris and Kris Kristofferson to Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves.

Born in Wyoming, Shellhart came to Nashville at the age of 10. By the age of 16, she had signed both a record and publishing deal, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and planned a country-wide tour.  After taking a break from the stage, she found herself singing again and racking up credits as a songwriter, including Little Big Town’s Grammy-nominated “Sugar Coat” as well as songs recorded by Kelsea Ballerini, Cody Johnson, Don Williams and more.

Now, Shellhart is ready to share her music through her own voice with more original work coming this year.

Tyler Hubbard To Give Closing Interview At NSAI’s Tin Pan South Songwriting Seminar

Tyler Hubbard has been announced as the closing guest interview at the Tin Pan South Songwriting Seminar on March 27 – 28 at Belmont in Nashville.

Presented by Belmont, this year’s event will feature more than 20 songwriters and music industry professionals. The closing interview with Hubbard on Tuesday will wrap up two days at Belmont’s Fisher Center For the Performing Arts filled with educational panels, Q&A Sessions, and interviews where top industry members will cover topics including publishing, sync, co-writing, demo sessions, streaming, and more.

Participating guests at this year’s event include Mike Molinar (Big Machine Music), Courtney Crist (Anthem Entertainment), Jamie Rodgers (Essential Music), Kate Shirley (Liz Rose Music), Milk & Honey Music and Teri Nelson Carpenter (Reel Muzik Werks). Hit songwriters Hillary Lindsey and Brett James will be the final interview segment for day one of the seminar, and throughout the event several other chart-topping songwriters will take the mic to share their experiences and advice.

Matt Mulhare Signs With Sony Music Publishing & Red Creative Group

Matt Mulhare has signed a joint publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing Nashville and Red Creative Group.

A native of Florida, New York, Mulhare grew up on early 2000’s country, listening to Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley, along with rock staples from Pearl Jam to Oasis. He fell in love with songwriting at a young age and moved to Nashville after high school to attend Belmont University.

“The launch of a new career is always an exciting time for a songwriter. Matt has all the heart and the genuine talent that it takes to be a big success in this town. Grateful for our friends at Red and for our partnership in this deal,” says Sony Music Publishing Nashville CEO Rusty Gaston.

Rare Vintage Travis Tritt Album To Hit Streaming Services In April

A rare album recorded over 30 years ago by Travis TrittProud of the Country, will be available on streaming services worldwide for the first time on April 28 via its original label, Copperhill Records. The first track from the collection, “Get A Little Rowdy,” is out now.

Proud of the Country is the record that reportedly landed Tritt his first-ever record deal and marked an integral turning point in Tritt’s career. A two-side album, Proud of the Country was originally released in 1987 on Copperhill Records, a label used by the Demo Listen Studio in Marietta, Georgia. Only 1000 physical copies were ever made, and the record has never been digitally released.

The album will be distributed by Reservoir imprint Painted Desert Music and features 11 songs that deliver the quintessential sound that drove Tritt to the top of the mainstream charts. The release of the project follows Reservoir’s acquisition of Tritt’s publishing and recorded music catalogs in 2022, a deal that included shares of the multi-Platinum artist’s entire body of work, excluding his most recent original full-length album, Set In Stone.

Tritt is currently gearing up for his 2023 tour, which will kick off March 30 in Troy, Ohio and visit select markets around the country. He is also set to join Eric Church on “The Outsiders Revival Tour” for two shows this summer in July.
