Dave Cobb lent his production talents to a wide swath of artists, ranging from the traditional country sounds of Chris Stapleton to rock band Kaleo to Americana heroes Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit. Among his recent hits are Stapleton’s “Starting Over” from the ACM Album of the Year by the same name. Cobb worked on the heralded album by The Highwomen, and with icons John Prine, Barry Gibb and The Oak Ridge Boys, as well as the talents of A Thousand Horses, Anderson East, Blackberry Smoke, Dawes, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Randy Rogers Band, and Travis Tritt. Cobb was nominated for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical at the 63rd Grammy Awards. He is a two-time MusicRow Producer of the Year.
Ross Copperman is co-producer of Gabby Barrett’s blockbuster debut album Goldmine, home to the hits “I Hope” and “The Good Ones.” Over the last year Copperman also had hits including Darius Rucker’s “Beers and Sunshine,” and worked with newcomers Bexar and King Calaway. He produced new music by Darius Rucker (“My Masterpiece”), Brad Paisley (“City of Music”) and Michael Ray (“Picture”). Copperman’s own recent EP, Somewhere There’s A Light On, is out now via Photo Finish Records. This is his fourth nomination for MusicRow Producer of the Year.
Corey Crowder enters the Producer of the Year category for the first time in 2021, thanks to numerous hits including Chris Young and Kane Brown’s “Famous Friends,” Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard’s “Undivided,” and Florida Georgia Line’s “Long Live.” His credits also include FGL’s 6-Pack EP, Chris Tomlin & Friends and Chase Rice’s “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” featuring FGL. Crowder re-upped with Tree Vibez Music in late 2020, where he produces artists including Brian Kelley and RaeLynn, and also released his own song as an artist.

Joyce also produced acclaimed artist Brandy Clark, and newcomer Lainey Wilson, who is in the running for Discovery Artist of the Year. He also has credits on fresh tracks from Charlie Worsham, Declan McKenna, Devin Dawson, Kip Moore and Tenille Townes. Joyce is a two-time MusicRow Producer of the Year.
Joey Moi produced one of 2021’s most-streamed albums, Dangerous: The Double Album by Morgan Wallen. Moi, a partner at Big Loud, also produced many of the company’s other artists including Chris Lane, Ernest, Hardy, Jake Owen, Larry Fleet, Lily Rose, MacKenzie Porter, and Sean Stemaly. This includes hits by Lane (“Big, Big Plans”), Owen (“Homemade,” “Made for You”) and Hardy (“One Beer,” “Give Heaven Some Hell”). Hardy’s “Give Heaven Some Hell” is nominated for MusicRow Song of the Year. This is Moi’s second nomination for Producer of the Year.

On Tuesday, July 13, Monument Records and SMACKSongs hosted the second edition of Tuesday Night Music Club at the Basement East. This week’s show was headlined by Caitlyn Smith who sang her current single, “I Can’t,” as the track—which features Old Dominion—approaches the top 40 at country radio.
The full band show was preceded by a songwriter session that included performances from Tenille Townes, Alex Hall, and sister-duo Tigirlily.
The Tuesday Night Music Club event is a monthly residency at the venue to celebrate the return of live music since the onset of COVID-19 in March of 2020.

UTA Inks With BlackHawk, The Outlaws

Country music group BlackHawk and southern rock band The Outlaws have signed exclusive booking deals with United Talent Agency. UTA will represent both bands worldwide in all areas — live concert bookings, literary deals, film, television and more.
“We’re thrilled to be working with UTA,” says Henry Paul, a founding member of both bands. “This is the dawning of the return to the road for BlackHawk and The Outlaws, and getting back to what we have loved to do for so many years.”

Caleb Lovely Signs With Peermusic Nashville

Caleb Lovely has signed an exclusive global publishing deal with Peermusic in partnership with Michael Dulaney’s Watercolor Sky Songs.
Lovely is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who has been playing music since the age of eleven. He has been performing on stages all over the U.S., and his songwriting has already yielded some cuts, most recently, “Livin’ Man” recorded by Jimmie Allen and Neon Union on Allen’s Bettie James Gold Edition.

Rhiannon Giddens Unveils New Audible Original, 4-Book Publishing Deal

Rhiannon Giddens has announced that she will be releasing a new Audible Original audiobook, To Balance on Bridges, on July 22. Giddens also shared that she has inked a new four-book publishing deal with Candlewick Press which includes two picture books. The first of these, Build a House, will be due in fall of 2022.
Giddens’ Audible Original will debut as part of the Words + Music series exclusively on Audible. The 1.5 hour audio-only memoir follows Giddens as she examines the multitude of influences and identities that have defined her creative life. Throughout To Balance on Bridges, she leads listeners through a journey of musical styles, lyrical patterns, and instrumentation while confronting questions on race, culture, appropriation, and class with searing precision while also delivering performances from several of her acclaimed albums. It’s half of an innovative “double single” that also includes the terrific tempo romance tune “Stronger,” which he also sings like a man possessed. Next month, he stars in a biographical documentary titled Dear Rodeo that traces his rise from the arena dirt to singing for millions.

Performers Announced For 14th Annual ACM Honors, Hosted By Carly Pearce

Hosted for the first time by two-time ACM Award winner Carly Pearce, artists confirmed to perform include Lauren Alaina, Devin Dawson, Sara Evans, Hardy, Chris Janson, Lady A, Ashley McBryde, RaeLynn, and Lee Ann Womack, with more talent to be announced in the coming weeks.
“The Academy is excited to be back in Nashville with our star-studded 14th Annual Academy of Country Music Honors celebration and to welcome ACM Award winner Carly Pearce as our host,” says Damon Whiteside, CEO of the Academy of Country Music. “We look forward to having industry and fans join us as we recognize the significant accomplishments of our 55th and 56th Studio Recording Awards, Industry Awards, Songwriter of the Year and Special Awards winners with a night of unforgettable performances. The 14th Annual ACM Honors is an evening dedicated to recognizing the special honorees and winners from the 55th and 56th ACM Awards. The event will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021 at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and will be livestreamed on Circle Network’s social channels. Circle Network is also set to air a television special around the 14th Annual ACM Honors at a later date this year. Tickets for the event are available to the public now.

Brittney Spencer Signs With United Talent Agency

A Spotify and Pandora 2021 Artist to Watch, Brittney Spencer has signed with United Talent Agency for representation.
Moving from Baltimore to Nashville to pursue her musical career, the indie artist recently released her latest single “Sober & Skinny.” On the heels of the signing, Spencer is preparing to hit the road opening shows for Jason Isbell and making stops at festivals like Merlefest, The Melissa Etheridge Cruise, and Cayamo Cruise 2022.

Miranda Lambert Announces String Of New Tour Dates

Miranda Lambert has announced a string of summer headlining dates that will kick off July 17 in Ohio and run through Nov. 14 where she’ll wrap in Ridgefield, Washington.
Dates on tap include three nights at the Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, Texas and two nights at the Choctaw Grand Theater in Durant, Oklahoma. She’ll also be making stops at a festivals along the way, including Rock the South, A Night in the Country, Country Spirit, and Tortuga.
Lambert recently released “Tequila Does (Telemitry Remix),” a summery take on the track and her first-ever remix. Her latest single “Settling Down” is in the Top 5 at country radio, while “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home),” Lambert’s collab with Elle King, recently hit No. 20 on the Billboard Hot AC chart, marking Lambert’s first Top 20 Hot AC entry.

The Secret Sisters To Deliver Four-Track ‘Quicksand EP’

The Secret Sisters will release their new Quicksand EP on Friday, July 16 via New West Records.
The four-song set was produced by Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes, John Paul White) at Sundrop Sound in Florence, Alabama. The project features two new original songs by Laura and Lydia Rogers as well as their renditions of Fiona Apple’s “Heavy Balloon,” and The Strokes’ “Someday.”
The Quicksand EP follows The Secret Sisters’ Grammy-nominated albums Saturn Return (2019) and You Don’t Own Me Anymore (2017) which were both produced by Brandi Carlile and Phil and Tim Hanseroth.
The duo have also announced a string of 2021 North American tour dates. Launching August 25 in Alexandria, Virginia, the trek features stops at the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, Colorado, the Casbah in San Diego, two nights at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle, and more. Full Lineup Announced For 9th Annual Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam
/by Lydia FarthingThe full lineup for the 9th Annual Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach over Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 3-5) has been announced.
Among the performers featured at the Country On The Coast Festival will be Gary Allan, Chris Janson, Scotty McCreery, Tracy Lawrence, Randy Rogers Band, Tyler Rich, Frankie Ballard, Darryl Worley, Steve Moakler, Lily Rose,Corey Smith, Elvie Shane, Ryan Griffin, Tigirlily, Tom Yankton, and Presley & Taylor. They will be joining the previously announced headliners Chris Stapleton, Brooks & Dunn and Old Dominion.
“We really try to have something for everyone, and we’ve already had incredible response to this lineup,” says Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam Executive Producer Rendy Lovelady. “Artists are back on the road, and we will have the best of the best here for three days!”
“Having over 23,000 people per day come to our rescheduled Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam last month blew our minds and showed that fans want to get out and hear live music,” says Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam COO Mark Sheldon. “This is an incredible lineup from start to finish, and we can’t wait to welcome our Jammers to everything Panama City Beach has to offer.”
