Phil Wickham will launch a new nationwide tour, the “Song of the Saints Tour,” this spring featuring Tauren Wells with special guest Jamie MacDonald.
The 24-city tour will travel across the U.S. with stops in Birmingham, Knoxville, Savannah, Baltimore, Jacksonville, Charlotte, St.Louis and more through May 24. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Oct. 2, while an exclusive pre-sale begins Sept. 29.
The announcement comes on the heels of Wickham’s brand-new album, Song of the Saints, out now. The project featuring already-released hit singles “Homesick for Heaven” and “What An Awesome God,” along with some new worship anthems sure to become fan-favorites.
“With the release of my new album, Song Of The Saints, I couldn’t wait to get dates on the calendar to sing these songs with the church,” says Wickham. “I feel a stronger stirring than I ever have before that we need to gather and raise the banner of Jesus high. There is a darkness-shaking, soul-waking, heaven-moving power in our collective song of faith. These nights are not about a show or a concert, but about the people of God shouting the praises of God in the presence of God. I am convinced we will witness eternal life-change on these nights—freedom, healing, salvation, joy, and hope—as we call on the Name above all names. Sony & Spotify Ink New Multi-Year Deal
/by Lauryn SinkSpotify has partnered with Sony on a deal that will encompass both the recorded music and publishing sides of Sony’s business, according to Billboard. Spotify states the “new direct licensing arrangement in the U.S.” will result in higher royalties for songwriters. The deal follows previously made agreements with Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Kobalt.
“Our partnership with Sony is built on a shared drive to shape the future of music. Together, we’re accelerating the pace of innovation to create powerful new opportunities and increasing revenue for artists and songwriters,” Daniel Ek, Spotify’s Founder and CEO tells Billboard. “These agreements aren’t just a milestone; they’re a catalyst for building a more dynamic and prosperous music ecosystem for everyone.”
Last spring, Spotify started paying a reduced royalty rate to songwriters and publishers in the U.S. by creating product bundles within its subscription options, resulting in what the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) says was a loss of $230 million in royalties in the first year.
“Sony Music Group and Spotify have long been mutually committed to advancing music streaming and growing the marketplace for all,” adds Rob Stringer, Chairman of Sony Music Group. “This is further reflected in our new agreements where we’re working to develop futuristic approaches that ensure our artists and songwriters remain appropriately compensated for their work, and audiences are getting a high-quality experience that’s ever evolving.”
“These deals with Sony Music Group are built to better support artists and songwriters by unlocking new formats and forging deeper connections with fans,” says Alex Norström, Co-President and Chief Business Officer at Spotify. “This alignment creates space for new opportunities and long-term growth for everyone involved.”

Additionally, the company has also acquired interests in the recorded catalogs and publishing rights of a music collection from 23 artists and songwriters, with the entire deal encompassing over 1,000 songs across multiple genres. The deal marks BMG’s single largest catalog acquisition investment in company history.
“This landmark deal sets a new level of catalog acquisitions at BMG, while underscoring our commitment to the music and the discipline of our approach,” says Thomas Coesfeld, BMG CEO. “By bringing together the iconic catalog of Jason Aldean, we are strengthening our footprint in country music while expanding across genres and deepening our investment in the U.S. – the world’s largest music market. This move highlights our ability to maximize the value of music rights and represents a powerful step in BMG’s strategy to be the most effective, artist-first music company in the world.”
The deal brings Aldean’s whole music catalog under BMG, the first time since it was acquired by BBR Music Group in 2017. Included in the acquisition is nine studio albums, including his Platinum self-titled debut project, the hit making 9 record, his most recent Highway Desperado and more.
“BBR Music Group and BMG have always shown a real commitment to my music and a belief in me as an artist,” adds Aldean. “Knowing all of my music is in the hands of my long-time label team makes this a full-circle moment, and I’m proud to have my songs continue their journey with them through this next chapter.”
“Jason Aldean’s debut album was not only a massive commercial success, it helped define the sound of country music for years to come,” shares Jon Loba, President, Frontline Recordings, The Americas. “While his signature style has remained a common thread across every release, Jason has consistently pushed the envelope both sonically and lyrically. His unwavering commitment to evolution has ensured that each new album delivers something fresh for fans, while continuing to shape the direction of the genre itself. Laura Veltz Begins Season Four Of ‘Songwriter Soup’ Podcast
/by Madison HahnenLaura Veltz has launched the fourth season of her Songwriter Soup podcast, with the new season now streaming on YouTube. On the podcast, Veltz offers an in-depth look at the realities of the songwriting world. The podcast is produced in collaboration with Tracy Hackney and host/producer Kevin Sokolnicki.
Season four kicks off with award winning songwriter and producer Jordan Reynolds. On the episode, Reynolds discusses a songwriter’s search for a hero, the rise of A.I., the importance of studio aesthetics, and even the quiet care in making a slow cup of coffee for co-writers.
“I am floored by how quickly word-of-mouth recommendations pushed Songwriter Soup out into the songwriting community, but after 50+ episodes, evolution was inevitable.” says Veltz. “The music industry can feel overwhelming to music people at all stages. With Tracy and Kevin’s guidance and excellent questioning, it’s incredible how much insight and wisdom falls out of casual conversations we have with my cowriters. I’m excited to find out what other types of entrepreneurs could yield wisdom from our little podcast.”
Songwriter Soup can be listened to on all podcast streaming services, as well as YouTube. New episodes will drop every Monday throughout this fall.
