Walker Hayes, Teddy Robb, Brandon Ratcliff Revive Triple Play Tour

Walker Hayes, Teddy Robb, and Brandon Ratcliff are taking a page from the playbook of ’90s country and hitting the road together on the Triple Play Tour presented by Monument Records. The tour will be visiting major markets across the U.S., kicking off on April 9 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and running through May 16 in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Inspired by the original Triple Play tour that launched the careers of Shania Twain and Toby Keith, Hayes, Ratcliff, and Robb will all be releasing new singles into the marketplace throughout the run and sharing one bus and one band. The trio will be fully investing in these cities with press, radio, college and brand events in addition to the marketplace shows.

Hayes has kept fans and audiences across the globe captivated since the release of his debut album boom., which included the Platinum hit “You Broke Up With Me.” After selling out clubs across the country last year on his Dream On It Tour, and releasing his latest EP, 8Tracks, Vol. 3: Black Sheep, Hayes’ songs have been streamed nearly half a billion times. He has new music set for release this month.

Ratcliff burst onto the scene with his debut single, “Rules Of Breaking Up,” accumulating over 50 million streams. After hitting the road with Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young, and opening dates for Keith Urban, Ratcliff was selected as a Pandora Ones to Watch artist and topped Rolling Stone’s all-genre Breakthrough Artists chart last summer. On his latest project, Uncovered, Ratcliff digs into his musical influences, releasing covers of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon,” Stevie Wonder’s “Livin’ For The City,” and Alison Krauss’ “Forget About It.”

Robb released his debut track “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You” in 2019. Since then, his music has accumulated over 80 million worldwide streams, and he’s played festivals across the country and performed to national audiences. New music will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mercury’s Triple Play Sampler: Three Home-Run Artists was released in 1993, featuring John Brannen, Toby Keith and Shania Twain.

BREAKING: SXSW Canceled Due To "Unprecedented Situation"

The city of Austin, Texas has canceled the March events for South By Southwest (SXSW), as well as SXSW EDU, marking the first cancellation in the festival’s 33-year history. The shows were set to begin next week. Facing growing concerns over Coronavirus, the city made this surprising decision today, Mar. 6, 2020.

Read the festival’s full statement below:

The City of Austin has cancelled the March dates for SXSW and SXSW EDU. SXSW will faithfully follow the City’s directions.

We are devastated to share this news with you. “The show must go on” is in our DNA, and this is the first time in 34 years that the March event will not take place. We are now working through the ramifications of this unprecedented situation.

As recently as Wednesday, Austin Public Health stated that “there’s no evidence that closing SXSW or any other gatherings will make the community safer.” However, this situation evolved rapidly, and we honor and respect the City of Austin’s decision. We are committed to do our part to help protect our staff, attendees, and fellow Austinites.

We are exploring options to reschedule the event and are working to provide a virtual SXSW online experience as soon as possible for 2020 participants, starting with SXSW EDU. For our registrants, clients, and participants we will be in touch as soon as possible and will publish an FAQ.

We understand the gravity of the situation for all the creatives who utilize SXSW to accelerate their careers; for the global businesses; and for Austin and the hundreds of small businesses – venues, theatres, vendors, production companies, service industry staff, and other partners that rely so heavily on the increased business that SXSW attracts.

We will continue to work hard to bring you the unique events you love. Though it’s true that our March 2020 event will no longer take place in the way that we intended, we continue to strive toward our purpose – helping creative people achieve their goals.

We are forever grateful for every opportunity we get to witness just how far our music is reaching, and we will be back across the world as soon as we can. Much love and thank you for your support – Matthew, Trevor, Brad, Geoff & Whit.”

Danny Gokey Announces Better Than I Found It Tour

Danny Gokey has announced his Better Than I Found It tour will launch in April. Also featuring Christian radio hitmakers Unspoken and The Young Escape, the tour will visit 18 cities this spring including Augusta, Georgia; Springfield, Missouri; Wichita, Kansas; and more, before wrapping May 17 in Akron, Ohio.

“This tour and the theme behind it is something I’ve been dreaming about and praying into for a long time,” said Gokey. “It’s inspired by one of my song’s lyrics, and something about it keeps resonating with me. When I came off of American Idol, in my exit interview, they asked me what I saw for my future in music. At the time, I didn’t even know what I was really saying, but I said I saw my music as a movement. This phrase, ‘Better Than I Found It’, encapsulates what I want that movement to be. The tour is just the start of activating people to really SEE the world around them and get involved in making it better.”

Tickets for all shows on the tour are on sale now at dannygokey.com and awakeningevents.com. Additionally, from now until March 17, fans that purchase early can save 20% on tickets to the tour via the Awakening Events Fan & Listener Appreciation Sale.
