Weekly Register: Kane Brown Tops Country Albums, Digital Sales Charts

Sony Music Nashville artist Kane Brown tops both the country albums sales rankings and the country digital songs charts this week. Brown’s deluxe version of his self-titled album moved 43K in total consumption this week. Meanwhile, his new track “Heaven” debuts in the top slot, with 35K.

Thomas Rhett‘s Life Changes takes the No. 2 spot with 17K, followed by last week’s No. 1, Shania Twain‘s NOW, with 15K.

Luke CombsThis One’s For You is at No. 4, with 12K, followed by Chris Stapleton‘s Traveller with 11K.

Following Brown’s No. 1 song on the country digital songs rankings is Maren Morris‘ “Dear Hate” at No. 2 with 27K, and another Kane Brown hit, “What Ifs,” (ft. Lauren Alaina) at No. 3 with 22K.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill‘s “Rest of Your Life” is at No. 4 with 18K, followed by LANCO‘s “Greatest Love Story” with 17K at No. 5.

Weekly Register: Shania Twain’s ‘Now’ Tops Overall Albums Chart

With her first album in 15 years, Now, Shania Twain tops Nielsen Soundscan’s Top 200 album rankings, as well as the country albums chart, with 137K in total consumption.

Thomas Rhett‘s Life Changes is the second-highest selling country project (total consumption), with 21K this week. Luke CombsThis One’s For You is at No. 3 with 12K, followed by Chris Stapleton‘s Traveller at No. 4 with 11K. Kane Brown‘s self-titled album rounds out the Top 5 with 10K.

On the digital country songs chart, Maren Morris‘ “Dear Hate” tops the list with 27K this week. The stirring track, which features vocals from Vince Gill, was written more than two years ago, and was recently officially released following the mass shooting at Las Vegas’ Route 91 Harvest Festival that occurred Oct. 1.

Weekly Register: Midland Makes Top Country Debut With ‘On The Rocks’

Valory Music Co.’s Thomas Rhett retains his top spot on the Nielsen Soundscan country album sales chart this week, with Life Changes moving 27.1K in total consumption.

Big Machine Records trio Midland make the top country debut (No. 2 country overall) on the Nielsen Soundscan rankings this week with their album On The Rocks. The project moved 20.1K in its debut week.

Vocal group Home Free‘s Timeless debut is the third-highest selling country project this week with 16.7K. Sony Music Nashville’s  Luke CombsThis One’s For You follows at No. 4 with 12.5K. Mercury Nashville’s Chris Stapleton‘s Traveller rounds out the Top 5 this week with 10.7K.

Other debuts this week include Warner Music Nashville’s Chris Janson‘s Everybody at No. 7. The album moved 10.6K

On the core digital country songs chart, RCA Nashville/Zone 4 artist Kane Brown‘s “What Ifs”  (ft. Lauren Alaina) tops the list with 24K.

MCA Nashville artist Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like A Back Road” is at No. 2 with 17.2K. The track has moved 1.68 million units to date.

Black River’s Kelsea Ballerini is at No. 3 with her newly-released “High School” moving 17K.

Combs’ “When It Rains It Pours” is at No. 4 with 16.7K.

Sony Music Nashville band LANCO rounds out the top 5 with “Greatest Love Story” moving 16.4K this week.

Kane Brown Celebrates First Platinum Single For ‘What Ifs’

Kane Brown recently celebrated the Platinum certification of his single, “What Ifs,” featuring Lauren Alaina. The song is currently Top 5 and climbing on the country airplay charts and is at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart.

Co-written by Brown, Matthew McGinn, and Jordan Schmidt, “What Ifs” is from Brown’s chart-topping, self-titled RCA Nashville/Zone 4 album. During the celebration, Brown made plaque presentations to his fellow songwriters, as well as song publishers Tree Vibez and Universal Music Publishing.

On Oct. 6, Brown releases Kane Brown Deluxe Edition, which includes four new Dann Huff-produced tracks. One of those tracks, “Found You,” was released digitally on Sept. 8 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart. William Michael Morgan’s “I Met A Girl” Earns Gold

William Michael Morgan‘s debut single, “I Met A Girl” has earned Gold certification from the RIAA.

WMN Chairman/CEO John Esposito surprised Morgan with a plaque commemorating the single. Morgan’s followup single “Vinyl” officially arrives at country radio today (Oct. 2).

Thomas Rhett keeps hold on the country albums chart this week, and is at No. 3 on Nielsen Soundscan’s overall Top 200 rankings, with Life Changes moving 39K in total consumption.

Big & Rich debuts Did It For The Party, which makes its inaugural appearance on the country albums chart at No. 2, with 27K. Dustin Lynch‘s Current Mood lands at No. 3, with 12.7K sold, followed by Luke CombsThis One’s For You is at No. 4, with 12.6K. Chris Stapleton‘s Traveller is at No. 5 with 11K.

On the top country digital song sales rankings, Kane Brown retains his lead as “What Ifs” takes the No. 1 spot with 25K sold (last week’s top spot was held by Brown’s “Found You”). Sam Hunt follows with “Body Like A Back Road” at No. 2 with 20K. “Body Like A Back Road” has now reached 4.9 million streams.

Luke Combs‘ “When It Rains It Pours” is at No. 3 with 17K, while Thomas Rhett’s “Unforgettable” is at No. 4 with 16K. LANCO‘s “Greatest Love Story” rounds out the Top 5, with 16K.

Following the death of Montgomery Gentry member Troy Gentry on Sept. 8, this week’s top debut was Montgomery Gentry’s “Better Me,” released by Average Joes, which debuts at No. 10 country, with 10K.

Thomas Rhett‘s latest album Life Changes (The Valory Music Co.) has debuted at the pinnacle of the Top 200, claiming the third-highest chart debut for a country artist this year, and moving 123K, as noted by MusicRow.com earlier. The high-water mark also makes Life Changes this week’s top album on the Nielsen Soundscan country albums rankings.

Broken Bow’s Dustin Lynch landed at No. 2 on the country albums chart with the debut of Current Mood, which moved 36K. UMG Nashville artist Kip Moore‘s Slowheart, landed at No. 3, with 29K. Sony Nashville artist Kane Brown‘s self-titled album is at No. 4 this week, with 14K, followed by fellow Sony artist Luke CombsThis One’s For You at No. 5 with 12K.

Other country debuts this week include Toby Keith‘s Bus Songs, which debuts at No. 6 on the country albums chart with 12K, and The Texas Tenors’ Rise, which debuts at No. 17 country.

On the country digital songs rankings, Kane Brown takes over Sam Hunt’s lead on the chart, with Brown’s “Found You” debuting at No. 1 with 33K. Brown also has the No. 3 spot, with “What Ifs” moving 23K.

Blake Shelton‘s “I’ll Name The Dogs” also debuts this week, at No. 2 with 27K. Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like A Back Road” drops to No. 4 this week, with 19K. Dustin Lynch’s “Small Town Boy” rounds out the Top 5, with 17K.

Thomas Rhett’s ‘Life Changes’ Becomes First All-Genre No. 1 Country Album Of 2017

Thomas Rhett‘s third full-length release for Valory Music Co., Life Changes, has become the first country album to top Nielsen Soundscan’s all-genre Top 200 albums rankings for 2017. The album sold more than 123K units, which includes 94K in traditional album sales. The album also debuts at No. 1 on Nielsen’s country albums rankings, making it Thomas Rhett’s first album to do so.

Thomas Rhett’s previous two full-length albums Tangled Up (2015) and It Goes Like This (2013) each debuted at No. 6 on the all-genre albums rankings, and at No. 2 on the country albums rankings. Tangled Up debuted with 63K sold in its first week, while It Goes Like This debuted with 36K in 2013.

Life Changes marks the third-largest sales week for a country debut album in 2017, following Chris Stapleton‘s From A Room: Vol. 1, which logged 202K, and Zac Brown Band‘s Welcome Home, which logged 139K.

Life Changes has been propelled by the No. 1, Gold-certified single “Craving You,” featuring Maren Morris, as well as its followup “Unforgettable.”

Thomas Rhett is nominated three times at the upcoming Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, where he is up for Male Vocalist of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year (both for “Craving You” ft. Maren Morris). The video for “Craving You” has garnered more than 10 million views on Vevo.

As Thomas Rhett earns his best debut week sales to date, he has spent much of 2017 on his first headlining tour, The Home Team Tour, which has been extended through the fall. His fashion collaborations with several respected designers will be included in his LA Pop Up Store, which will be in Los Angeles Sept. 22-24, coinciding with Thomas Rhett’s first show at the Greek Theatre. The show is sold out.

Lauren Daigle Becomes First Female CCM Artist To Earn Two Gold Singles From Debut Album

Centricity Music artist Lauren Daigle was recently honored with two gold-certified singles from her 2015 debut album, How Can It Be. The feat makes Daigle the first female CCM artist to achieve two gold singles from a debut album.

Her debut Centricity Music album launched both “How Can It Be,” which earned certification for 500K units sold in November 2016; “Trust In You” earned the same recognition in May 2017. Daigle’s label team surprised her with a commemorative presentation and plaque during last week’s Christian Music Broadcasters’ Momentum conference in Orlando.

In 2015 “How Can It Be” earned Gospel Music Association Awards for Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year, along with a K-Love Fan Award for Worship Song of the Year. It reached No. 1 on the iTunes Christian Songs Chart, plus No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart. In 2016 “Trust In You” won the GMA Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year and earned Billboard Music Award and GRAMMY Award nominations. It was No. 1 on the iTunes Christian Songs Chart, plus No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs Chart for 19 consecutive weeks.
