Worley Parties for Cystic Fibrosis
Fans heading to Nashville for the CMA Music Festival can join Stroudavarious Records artist Darryl Worley and a few of his famous friends as they kick off the summer in style at the 103 WKDF Country Beach Party benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Set for Tuesday, June 9 at The Stage on Lower Broadway, the party will feature “beach wear, cool shades and island music cowboy style.” Worley, whose Sounds Like Life album hits stores the same day as the 103 WKDF Beach Party, is as enthusiastic about his support of Cystic Fibrosis as his own annual hometown fundraiser, the Tennessee River Run. “It is important to me to be a part of this, because the disease has directly affected my life and my family,” he said. “I’m very passionate about doing whatever I can to help find a cure.”

Memphis-based Elzemeyer Talent Agency (ETA) has opened a Nashville division of their successful agency to better service all of Tennessee. In April 2008, Elzemeyer launched ETA in Memphis and decided to open the Nashville office at 725 Cool Springs Blvd. in Franklin on the eve of the agency’s one-year anniversary. When country fans converge on Nashville in June for the CMA Music Festival, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will be greeting them with special programs and events, including performances and autograph signings with some of country’s most popular artists. During Music Fest week, the Museum will debut a new series, Live from the Museum Store, Presented by CMT, which will include performances by and/or autograph signings with Dierks Bentley, Joey+Rory, John Michael Montgomery, Jimmy Wayne and Darryl Worley, and a special autograph signing session with Country Music Hall of Fame member Dolly Parton. Live from the Museum Store, Presented by CMT events are free of charge and take place in the Museum Store and on the adjacent Museum Plaza. After spending nearly a decade trying to build a new-age media empire, Time Warner is spinning out AOL as a separate Internet company run by former Google advertising executive Tim Armstrong. He was hired in March to try to revive the brand once known as America Online. Time Warner owns 95 percent of AOL and will buy out Google’s 5 percent stake during the third quarter. Around the end of the year AOL will be spun off into a separate publicly traded company.
The Country Music Association is now accepting online submissions for the 2009 CMA Broadcast Awards for Broadcast Personality, Station, and National Broadcast Personality of the Year at Broadcast.CMAawards.com. The site will continue to accept submissions now through 5:00 PM/CT, June 25. Categories for submission include Broadcast Personality and Station of the Year in four different market sizes (major, large, medium, and small), as well as CMA National Broadcast Personality of the Year.
Little Big Town is set to host Ride For A Cure on Sunday, June 14, benefiting the T.J. Martell Foundation. The event, presented by Roberts and Lyons, marks the third year of Little Big Town’s involvement and features a motorcycle ride from the Harley-Davidson of Cool Springs to the Harley-Davidson of Columbia, a barbecue lunch provided by Applebee’s and a post ride performance by Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Jamey Johnson, Jamie O’Neal, Jason Michael Carroll, Kate & Kacey, Ray Scott, and Shelly Fairchild. Motorcycle riders and non-riders are welcome to attend. The T. J. Martell Foundation is offering a special VIP ticket for $300 that includes breakfast, access to the VIP areas during the ride, lunch, a gift bag, t-shirt and performance.
