2020 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Rescheduled For November


The 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony has been rescheduled for later in the year, falling in line with numerous events that have been rescheduled as the COVID-19 novel coronavirus continues to spread.

The event, which had been slated for May 2 in Cleveland, Ohio, will now be held Nov. 7. in Cleveland’s Public Auditorium; this year’s honorees including Whitney Houston, Notorious B.I.G., Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, and T-Rex.

The Ahmet Ertegun Award will be presented to Irving Azoff and Jon Landau.

The show will be broadcast on HBO beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Summer Olympics Rescheduled For 2021

It has been announced that the Olympic Games Tokyo, which had been slated to take place in July, are being rescheduled in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The International Olympic Committee said in a statement that the games “be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020, but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community.”

This marks the first time the Olympic Games have ever been postponed, though other Olympics were canceled in 1916, 1940 and 1944, due to war.

Jake Owen Celebrates Eighth No. 1 Single With "Homemade"

Jake Owen is celebrating his eighth career No. 1 as his single “Homemade” reached No. 1 on country radio this week, topping both the Billboard Country Airplay chart and the Country Aircheck/Mediabase Airplay chart. The song is also No. 1 on the Billboard and Mediabase country charts in Canada.

The single was penned by Bobby Pinson, Drew Parker, Jared Mullins and Ben Goldsmith, and marks the third single from Owen’s Big Loud Records album Greetings From…Jake.

“Homemade” follows Greetings From…Jake’s Gold-certified chart-topper “I Was Jack (You Were Diane)” and Platinum-certified, Top 5 single “Down to the Honkytonk.”

Garth Reschedules Stadium Dates In Cincinnati, Charlotte

Garth Brooks has rescheduled his upcoming stadium concerts in Charlotte and Cincinnati.

Brooks’ Bank of America Stadium show in Charlotte was scheduled for May 2, and will now be held June 13, and all tickets will be honored. During the on sale, Brooks sold 74,000 tickets to this show in 90 minutes, making it the largest paid crowd in the history of Bank of America stadium.

The Paul Brown Stadium date in Cincinnati was scheduled for May 16, and will now be June 27, and all tickets will be honored for that date as well. Brooks set the all-time record for entertainment in Cincinnati with this show with a sell-out of 70,000 seats in 75 minutes. This will mark Brooks’ first time playing at Paul Brown Stadium and the only Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia date on The Stadium Tour.

“Like so many people right now, I just want to get back to what I do. Knowing these shows are eventually going to happen makes me happy,” said Brooks about the change.

Like many artists who are self-quarantined to help stop the current spread of the novel coronavirus, Brooks and Trisha Yearwood joined forces for a livestream concert on Facebook Live. The event brought in 3.4 million viewers, enough that it overloaded Facebook Live, causing the site to crash several times during the show.

Brooks and Yearwood offered covers of hits for James Taylor (“Fire and Rain,” “Sweet Baby James”), Linda Ronstadt (“Long, Long Time”), as well as duets including their own “Whiskey to Wine” and a cover of George Jones and Tammy Wynette’s “Golden Ring.”

During the event, Yearwood and Brooks offered a cover of the Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper hit “Shallow,” from the movie A Star Is Born. See the clip below:

Sara Evans To Release Covers Album ‘Copy That’ In May


Sara Evans will release Copy That, an album of cover songs, on May 15. Evans co-produced the album with Jarrad K, whoknown for work with Ruston Kelly, Weezer, and more.

The project also includes collaborations with Old Crow Medicine Show, as well as work with Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet on a cover of the Kenny Loggins/Stevie Nicks duet “Whenever I Call You Friend.” Elsewhere on the project, she covers Dexy Midnight Runners’ 1983 chart-topper “Come On Eileen,” and The Knacks’ “My Sharona.”

Music Row Ambassadors Raise Over $95K

The Music Row Ambassadors for St. Jude held their annual “Mangia For St. Jude” event Feb. 26-27, and raised a record $95,660 for the hospital. This year’s dinner sold out instantly, sparking the need to add an additional evening with hundreds attending from the Nashville area. Title sponsors for the annual event included Curb Word I Entertainment and Futureshirts.
 

Willie Nelson Reschedules Album Release

Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, has rescheduled the release of Willie Nelson‘s upcoming 70th solo studio album First Rose Of Spring from April 24 to Friday, July 3.
 

Pandora Launches Live Songs Station

Pandora has launched a Top Live Songs station, which is led by Fleetwood Mac with a live version of Stevie Nicks’ “Landslide.” Other artists on the station include George Strait, Garth Brooks, Eagles, Coldplay and more.
