Shaboozey Brings ‘Outlaws Never Die’ Tour To Nashville [Recap]

Shaboozey brought his “Outlaws Never Die” tour to Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater Friday night (Sept. 18), celebrating his new project, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales.

After an opening set from Noeline Hofmann, the lights turned red as Shaboozey made his way to the stage, kicking off the show with “Til Sunday.” He kept the energy high, moving through “High Noon,” “Drink Don’t Need No Mix” and “Sweet Revenge.”

“I didn’t know what [this show] would look like, but from the front row to the back row is filled,” he shared from the stage. “I can see the city where it all started, where y’all showed me so much love when I came here a few years ago. [This is] where I wrote some of my first songs, and to be here, going from the Basement East to the amphitheater. This is the greatest night.”

His set continued with a mix of songs from The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales and previous projects, including “Born To Die,” “Last Of My Kind,” “Blink Twice” and “Drunk.” He brought Brittany Spencer to the stage for “Bullets and Blades.”

After “Bounty On My Head,” he shared, “I’m from Virginia and I make country music. I make a different kind of country music, but I know it still has the heart of the music we all love,” before performing a rendition of Townes Van Zandt’s “Waiting Around To Die,” one of his personal favorite songs. The crowd sang along to new fan-favorite tracks “If I Was An Outlaw,” “Burn It Down” and “Kissed By An Angel.”

The energy remained high as Shaboozey moved through a run of hits including “Amen,” “Good News” and “Cowgirl.” The lights turned red once again as Shaboozey closed out the show with “Lone Survivor.”

After a brief break, Shaboozey returned to the stage for an explosive performance of “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

The “Outlaws Never Die” tour continues tonight in Raleigh, North Carolina.
