C2C London is expanding this year with the newly created space on Greenwich Peninsula that will host line dancing with Lil’ Nashville, live music, alternative programming and two new bars. Radio 2 continues as the broadcast partner for the event, while the Country Music Association continues as a key festival partner. C2C has also partnered with BBC Introducing and Radio 2, bringing some of their best emerging talent from across the UK to the festival. Olivia Lynn and Motel Sundown will be opening the Radio 2 Stage on Saturday and Sunday.
“I’m thrilled that BBC Introducing will be joining forces with C2C for the very first time,” says Kelly Betts, Editor of BBC Introducing. “It’s a festival we’ve had on our partners bucket list for a while, so I’m incredibly excited to have a presence there and I’m delighted that two Introducing artists will be opening the show on Saturday and Sunday showcasing some of the amazing talent we support. We can’t wait to be part of it!”
Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2, adds, “Radio 2 remains committed to specialist music, and Bob Harris’ Country Show continues to be the nation’s most popular country music program. We’re proud to have been the broadcast partner of C2C since its launch in 2013, and I’m delighted that this relationship will continue this year, as it’s one of the highlights in our live music calendar. The appeal of Country music continues to grow in the UK, and Radio 2 will continue to respond to this, producing many hours of country music programming which our listeners can hear again and again on BBC Sounds.”
“I’ve been extremely proud to host the Country to Country Festival in London since the very first weekend in 2013 and I can’t wait to host the main stage again this year,” says Bob Harris, host of Radio 2’s Country Show. “It’s been incredible to see C2C grow into a standout moment in the global Country music community. I’m so thrilled that Radio 2 has been at the heart of the festival from day one, bringing the very best of Country talent to fans and helping make Country the fastest-growing music genre in the UK.”
