BlackHawk and southern rock band The Outlaws recently donated $100,000 to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and MusiCares. Blackhawk member Henry Paul presented a $50,000 check to Vanderbilt on behalf of BlackHawk’s “Van Stephenson Memorial Cancer Research Fund.” Additionally, The Outlaws donated $50,000 to MusiCares in memory of the band’s members who have passed away. Stephenson, a founding member of BlackHawk, passed away in 2001 of melanoma.
“Blackhawk and The Outlaws continue to fund their respective charities Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Research Lab and MusiCares,” explains Paul. “This year’s donations push the Vanderbilt charity commitment well past $500,000 and MusiCares to more than $150,000. The MusiCares donations are made in memory of our former Outlaws band members Hughie Thomasson, Frank O’Keefe and Billy Jones.”
MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund Provides $350K+ To Flood Recovery
Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief For Rescues Fund has donated over $300,000 to help more than 20 animal shelters and supporting organizations in Texas, New Mexico and New Jersey that were impacted by floods earlier this month.
“Texas is my home state and the tragedy that took so many lives – and forever changed so many others – left me without words to express my heartbreak. All I knew was that I wanted to help,” shares Lambert. “I’m grateful that our MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief For Rescues Fund could quickly jump into action. We started the Fund so we could immediately respond to the needs of animal shelters and rescues after a natural disaster, and it’s always incredible to see it in action during times like this. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to make that possible.”
