Cody Johnson & Carrie Underwood Duet ‘I’m Gonna Love You’ Tops The Chart
Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood have reached the top of the charts with their smash duet “I’m Gonna Love You.”
The monster hit is the fourth No. 1 single of Johnson’s career and the 29th for Underwood. Written by Chris Stevens, Kelly Archer and Travis Denning, the song has garnered 200 million global streams and appears on Cody’s Leather Deluxe album.
The pair performed the song on the 58th Annual CMA Awards, where Johnson took home the Album of The Year award for Leather. And last month, Underwood made a surprise appearance at one of Johnson’s two-sold out concerts in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena to deliver the song live for the fans.
Johnson will have to celebrate the latest triumph overseas as he is currently on tour having just completed three shows during the C2C Festival and launching headline dates in Australia and New Zealand later this week. He resumes his “Leather Deluxe Tour” across the U.S. on April 25-26.
Underwood made her debut this month joining Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the judges panel of American Idol, which marks the 20th anniversary of her winning the title. She continues her run as the first and longest resident at “Resorts World Theatre in Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency” through April 12.
