The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band recently took the Ryman Auditorium stage for a two-night stint filled with special guests. The shows served as part of their “All The Good Times: The Farewell Tour,” a celebratory victory lap of dates to honor the band’s nearly 60-year career.
Founding members Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden as well as longtime band member Bob Carpenter and 2018 additions Jim Photoglo, Jamie Hanna and Ross Holmes treated the crowds to a bevy of hits, including “Partners, Brothers and Friends,” “Mr. Bojangles,” “Fishin’ In The Dark” and more.
The bac-to-back shows featured appearances by Wine, Women & Song trio members Gretchen Peters, Suzy Bogguss and Jeff Hanna’s wife Matraca Berg as well as Emmylou Harris, Larkin Poe, Kathleen Edwards, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Alison Brown, Molly Tuttle and Mickey Raphael.
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will return to the road in February for another set of farewell shows, and have announced additional dates in Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Nov. 15). For more information, click here.
