Drew Baldridge Becomes First Self-Released Artist To Reach No. 1 On Country Aircheck/Mediabase Chart
Drew Baldridge has made history by becoming the first self-released artist to reach No. 1 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart and No. 3 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his hit “She’s Somebody’s Daughter,” surpassing the 2017 mark held by Aaron Watson.
“I’m overwhelmed and incredibly honored that ‘She’s Somebody’s Daughter’ has reached No. 1. on country radio,” he says. “I wrote this song six years ago and though I always dreamed we would get to this point, it felt so far away. In my heart, I knew ‘Daughter’ was special, and just needed the right team to help me share it with country radio and fans everywhere. I am so thankful to everyone who has supported me and believed in me over the years. This is truly the best day.”
The Gold-certified track has also garnered over 1.1 billion streams across streaming and social media platforms and debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Baldridge, with fans cheering him on, has pioneered a new path to No. 1 and helped inspire a generation of independent artists to do the same. He recently added new tour dates to his “Drew Baldridge Live” journey, which will run through the end of the year.
