Ty Herndon To Host ‘Concert For Love & Acceptance’ With GLAAD
Ty Herndon, in partnership with GLAAD, will host the ninth annual “Concert For Love & Acceptance” on June 5 at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville in Nashville.
The lineup includes appearances and performances from Adam Mac, Annie Bosko, Carmen Dianne, Chris Housman, Cody Alan, Denitia, Fancy Hagood, Jada Cato, Jamie Floyd, Leon Timbo, Pillbox Patti, Shelly Fairchild and Herndon. More are expected to be added to the lineup.
“This show just gets better and better,” shares Herndon. “I’m so excited to be able to stage our evening show as an unplugged and more intimate experience for fans and artists to get closer together, as well as showcase even more amazing talent with a full day of performances that will help us reach more and more folks coming to CMA Fest with our message of love and acceptance for all people. It’s a new day in Nashville. We’ve come a long way since we first hosted this show in 2015. We have a long way to go, but we also have a lot to celebrate. This will be a day to celebrate.”
In addition to the concert, there will also be a Red Carpet Countdown for the first time. Starting at 11 a.m., artists such as Andrew Mitch, Angie K, Bryan Ruby, Cody Belew, Cole Redding, Gina Vernier, Jett Holden and Layna will take the downstairs stage at Margaritaville for a 30 minute set. The Red Carpet Countdown is free and open to the public.
“For nearly a decade Ty Herndon and the ‘Concert for Love & Acceptance’ have been leading the charge to support and raise awareness for LGBTQ artists in country music,” says Anthony Allen Ramos, GLAAD’s Vice President of Communications and Talent. “Although there is clear progress happening to make the genre more welcoming for diverse voices, many LGBTQ people still do not feel welcomed, loved or respected because of who they love or how they identify. This dynamic event acts as a key reminder that country music is indeed for everyone.”
Proceeds from the show will benefit Herndon’s Foundation For Love & Acceptance, which uses the power of music and media to support mental health and addiction recovery, LGBTQ and other at-risk youth and Nashville’s country music community.
