Rising country star Corey Kent received a surprise at the Sony Music Nashville office just before the 2024 Country Radio Seminar—his latest RIAA Gold certification plaque for his chart-climbing hit “Something’s Gonna Kill Me.” The surprise came in the wake of Kent’s first No. 1 party for his Platinum-certified song “Wild As Her,” written by Kelly Archer, Brett Tyler and Morgan Wallen.

Keeping in stride, Kent is set to perform in the New Faces of Country Music Show at CRS for his success at country radio this year and is currently joining Parker McCollum on the “Burn It Down” tour.

On Wednesday (Feb. 28), at his bar Riot Room in Fort Worth, Texas, Koe Wetzel received a RIAA Platinum certification plaque for his single “Drunk Driving.” The event, held on “Koe Wetzel Day,” celebrated his musical achievements alongside the announcement of his upcoming single, “Damn Near Normal,” via Columbia Records.

Wetzel was joined by Leon Bridges, another Fort Worth-native and Columbia Records artist, in the festivities. The evening underscored Wetzel’s growing influence in the industry and his strong connection to the local community.

On Monday (Feb. 26), ACM hosted their first touring industry-focused Happy Hour at Lakeside Lounge in collaboration with Giggs, the touring job platform. The event marked the first of many aimed at showcasing ACM Membership’s dedication to companies that are making their mark on touring and providing organic networking opportunities for Academy members.

Filled with industry professionals and members alike, the happy hour featured rewards for active members, a giveaway and an abundance of networking opportunities.
