Rewind: 2023 MusicRow CountryBreakout Radio Chart No. 1s
Since 2002, the MusicRow CountryBreakout Radio Chart has crowned No. 1 songs in the secondary country radio marketplace. Over 50 chart weeks in 2023, MusicRow has added 39 songs to the list of No. 1 hits. MusicRow congratulates each artist, songwriter and label for their accomplishments this year.
Morgan Wallen rang the bell the most this year, notching five No. 1 songs on the MusicRow Radio Chart, including “Thought You Should Know,” “One Thing At A Time,” “Last Night,” “Everything I Love” and “Thinkin’ Bout Me.” Luke Combs earned four No. 1 songs on the chart with the three-week No. 1 “Going, Going, Gone” as well as “Fast Car,” “Love You Anyway” and “Different ‘Round Here” alongside Riley Green.
Bailey Zimmerman, who had two No. 1s on the MusicRow Radio Chart this year, had the longest run of 2023, with “Rock and A Hard Place” holding the spot for three consecutive weeks (March 3, March 10 and March 17). His “Religiously” was also a multi-week No. 1 (Aug. 4 and Sept. 15).
Five artists notched their first MusicRow No. 1 this year, including Nate Smith (“Whiskey On You” and “World On Fire”), Jelly Roll (“Need A Favor” and “Save Me”), Corey Kent (“Wild As Her”), Megan Moroney (“Tennessee Orange”) and Hailey Whitters (“Everything She Ain’t”).
As a secondary radio chart, the MusicRow CountryBreakout Radio Chart serves as an indicator for future successes on the major country radio charts. Of the 39 No. 1 hits on MusicRow‘s chart in 2023, 28 of them became chart-toppers on either the Mediabase Chart or the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
2023 data from the MusicRow CountryBreakout Radio Chart is being reviewed for the 22nd annual MusicRow CountryBreakout Awards. Winners in eight categories will be revealed on Feb. 27, 2024 on all MusicRow platforms.
