On Wednesday (Oct. 18) in Washington, D.C., Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) treated the U.S. House Administration Committee with “Conversation With Songwriters.”

The first-of-its-kind meeting featured Executive Director Bart Herbison and NSAI songwriter board members Jamie Moore and Parker Welling explaining how the government regulates writer royalties, sharing ongoing challenges such as artificial intelligence, and performing for the Committee members.

Established in 1967, NSAI is the world’s largest not-for-profit songwriters trade organization and has a membership of more than 5,000 spanning the U.S. and several foreign countries. For over 52 years, the organization has been committed to protecting the rights and future of the profession of songwriting as well as carrying a commitment to educate, elevate and celebrate the songwriter, acting as a unifying force within the music community and the community at large.
