Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Alison Brown, More Set To Play Inaugural Earl Scruggs Music Festival

December 2, 2021/by Lorie Hollabaugh

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sam Bush Band, Alison Brown, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Dom Flemons, and more are among the lineup for the inaugural Earl Scruggs Music Festival. The three-day festival will take place Sept. 2-4 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina.

Following two back-to-back COVID-related cancellations, festival organizers will launch the newly minted event alongside hosts Jerry Douglas and The Earls of Leicester. Tryon International Equestrian Center will host the event at its outdoor property, and the campus will serve as a backdrop for the festival, with on-site lodging, dining, and amenities.

Earl Scruggs Music Festival will illuminate the profound impact that Scruggs had on American culture, while uplifting new and noteworthy voices in the genre. A portion of proceeds will support the festival’s beneficiaries–the Earl Scruggs Center and Isothermal Community College–who serve Earl Scruggs’ home region of the Carolina Foothills with cultural programming.
