Morgan Wallen And Co-Writers Swarm Top Ten On ‘MusicRow’ Top Songwriter Chart

January 25, 2021/by LB Cantrell

Two weeks from the release of his sophomore album Dangerous: The Double Album, Morgan Wallen jumps to the No. 1 spot on the MusicRow Top Songwriter Chart.

Six of the top ten on the Songwriter Chart contributed to Wallen’s hit album. Josh Osborne, at No. 2, co-wrote “7 Summers” and “Sand In My Boots,” in addition to Darius Rucker’s “Beers And Sunshine,” Sam Hunt’s “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90’s,”, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s “Happy Anywhere,” Rascal Flatts’ “How They Remember You,” Old Dominion’s “Never Be Sorry,” and Carly Pearce’s “Next Girl.”

Ernest Keith Smith takes the No. 3 spot, as a co-writer on Wallen’s “Wasted On You,” “More Than My Hometown,” “Somebody’s Problem,” “Warning,” “Dangerous,” “Wonderin’ Bout The Wind, “Me On Whiskey,” “Blame It On Me,” and “Somethin’ Country,” as well as Hunt’s “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90’s.”

Other co-writers from Dangerous in MusicRow‘s Top 10 include Ashley Gorley (No. 4), Michael Hardy (No. 6), and Ryan Vojtesak (No. 7).

The weekly MusicRow Top Songwriter Chart uses algorithms based upon song activity according to airplay, digital download track sales and streams. This unique and exclusive addition to the MusicRow portfolio is the only songwriter chart of its kind.
