ASCAP reinstated its long-running songwriter development series, ASCAP Master Class, virtually in July, featuring hit songwriter Chris DeStefano and Big Yellow Dog Senior Creative Director Lauren Funk.
ASCAP’s Master Class provides a small group of promising new songwriters the opportunity to hear firsthand from a hit writer and receive song feedback from a publisher. The series is designed to equip songwriters with the knowledge to help hone their craft and expand their writing network.

Earlier in 2020, before quarantine lockdowns, hit songwriter Kyle Jacobs, songwriter, publisher, and producer Frank Rogers, Downtown Music Publishing Senior Creative Director Matt Turner, and Big Yellow Dog Creative Director Jacee Badeaux shared their expertise with the classes. Curated and hosted by ASCAP Assistant Vice President Kele Currier and Membership Manager Holly Chester, the Master Class series was hosted throughout 2019 at ASCAP’s Nashville offices.
