Dan + Shay’s “10,000 Hours” Becomes Australia’s Most-Played Song
Dan+Shay‘s latest single “10,000 Hours,” a collaboration with Justin Bieber, is the most-played, all-genre radio song of the past week in Australia.
The duo recently wrapped a tour of Australian show dates, opening for Shawn Mendes on the pop star’s headlining arena tour.
The sold-out tour began Oct. 23 in Perth and ran through Nov. 3 in Sydney. The single reached No. 5 on Spotify’s Top 200 Global chart, No. 3 on Apple Music’s Top 100: Global chart, and No. 1 all-genre on the U.S. iTunes Song chart, earning more than 275 million global streams. “10,000 Hours” earned the biggest first-week streaming total in country music history and Dan+Shay became the first country duo or group to debut in Billboard Hot 100’s Top 5. The track has already earned Gold certification in Australia and Canada.
The duo recently announced Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour will launch in 2020, including a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden, which sold out in less than 90 minutes.
Dan + Shay are up for Duo of the Year, Album of the Year and Single of the Year for their 3x Platinum, four-week No. 1 hit “Speechless” at this year’s CMA Awards. Dan Smyers received an additional nomination for Song of the Year as a co-writer on the 4x Platinum, multi-week No. 1 “Tequila” for the second year in a row.
