Muscadine Bloodline Charms Analog Audience At Second EP Preview
By: LB Rogers
Country duo Muscadine Bloodline hosted a listening party for their self-titled second EP, Muscadine Bloodline, Wednesday (March 28) at Nashville’s Hutton Hotel Analog event space.
During the acoustic preview, Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton of the duo told stories of their journey to this point while playing four of the five tracks on the upcoming project, displaying exceptional harmonies. The preview included “Gravel,” “Can’t Tell You No” and “Movin’ On.” They also played their ‘redneck song’ and “Put Me On A Pond.”
“Charlie and I grew up about three blocks from each other and never met,” Stanton said. “We met at Soul Kitchen in Mobile.” The two became friends and eventually started writing together, before moving to Nashville together a few years later.
Red Light Management’s Tom Lord hosted the intimate event, giving props to the duo’s early manager, Matthew Wallace.
Creative Nation’s Luke Laird, who discovered Muscadine Bloodline on a playlist, talked about tracking the band down online.
“Beth [Laird] will vouch for me,” Laird said, speaking of his wife and Creative Nation co-owner. “I never do this. I kind of tracked them down I think via Facebook. I don’t think I have messaged anybody on Facebook. It’s an honor for me to get to work with these guys.” Laird produced the duo’s EP.
Muscadine Bloodline is set to release April 27.
