Industry Ink: Apple Music, Clive Davis, Music Biz, Ty Herndon

April 20, 2017/by Lorie Hollabaugh

Clive Davis

The Clive Davis documentary Clive Davis: The Soundtrack Of Our Lives from IM Global and Scott Free Productions, is coming exclusively to Apple Music. The film chronicles the historic influence of Davis, whose career spans a remarkable five decades, and provides an incredible tour of the music of the cultural revolution, from the ’60s to the rise of hip-hop. The film had its world premiere as the Opening Night film at the Tribeca Film Festival at Radio City Music Hall last night (April 19).

Music Biz will bring back its popular Industry Jam live concert event May 15 as part of the Music Biz 2017 Convention at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel. The show will include a reunion of the original Alice Cooper band and tributes to Emerson Lake & Palmer, the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, featuring Felix Cavaliere (The Rascals), Chuck Negron (Three Dog Night), Cathy Richardson (Jefferson Starship), and Mark Stein (Vanilla Fudge); the 50th anniversary of The Doors’ self-titled debut album, and more. The Jam will close with a live performance from house band The R.A.T.S. (Rock Against Terrorism), featuring a lineup of top musicians and industry executives including John Esposito (Warner Music Nashville), Steve Herrman and more.

Jam admission is not included with Music Biz 2017 registration, and tickets are $20. To purchase tickets in advance, visit http://musicbiz2017.eventbrite.com.

Ty Herndon’s 2017 Concert for Love & Acceptance, hosted by Cody Alan, has announced its initial artist lineup, which will include Billy Gilman, Kree Harrison, Ryan Kinder, Runaway June, Lorrie Morgan, Michael Ray, Street Corner Symphony, and Thompson Square. Created to support at-risk youth, the event will be held on June 8 at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville.
